I google everything.

It's really a bad habit with some horrible side effects.

For example, I like to google odd images to add to my posts. So I goggled, found a great vintage gay poster, and then discovered that I had accidently ended up on some creepy, f'd up blog for Asian pedophiles!!

There was definatly pictures of underage girls nakes, I mean we're talking like 12 to 10. They were all art pictures, but I highly doubt this was being used for artstic purposes.

Someone had photoshopped on the photos to say, "Daddy f'd me and I liked it".

I'm enraged and very angry at the moment. I assumed there was putrid things online, but I've never seen them until now.

it sickened me and I needed to share.

I'm not posting the link or anything to suggest how to find it.

But just knowing that it's only a google search away is frightening.

I don't think you can really blame google for that. If a site links to that stuff, any search engine can take you there...

There are so many hidden dangers on Google that's not even funny. I try to watch what I type sometimes.

Lady G, remember the internet is "totally" free speech.....

So, even though we may see or hear things we do not like, they are allowed due to the basic freedom(s) issue.

I wonder, do we want to start limiting the scope of said freedom(s), or do we just want the individual or parents, in some cases, make decisions on what their children are allowed to look at???

What say the posters of JUB?

Thumbs UP or thumbs DOWN??(*8*) (*8*)

i can remember last year in highschool in computer studies that we always had to be carful of what we typed when using google images haha , some of the results you got were shocking to say the least nothing illegal like the poster above mentioned but sickening and funny sometimes

Google - in common with other search engines - can't really be blamed as it retreives images based on either key words attached to the image or words from the article that the image is attached to.

I was searching for some nightclub images for a brochure design I was laying out and ended up with images of nightclubs (yay) but also dead seals, clubbed hands and feet, most sports, and even weapons and torture equipment! And THAT was with my preferences set to moderate!!

 ... WHAT? There is porn on the internet? :grrr: We must stop this right now! This is an outrage :jab:
I had to sneak peaks at National Geographic or go to the public library. Make these sickos work for it like I had to!:soapbox:

Many years ago I 'Googled' for something to 'Link Me All Over' ..... and I have been here ever since .... so there is an upside .... sometimes.

I'm all for internet free speech,

But kiddie porn is not free speech. It's something harmful and dangerous, collectively.

And I'm not blaming google. I'm just distrubed.

Of course I knew there was porn on the internet. I just never....realized what kind was advaible.

*shudder*

You're right. Kiddie porn is not free speech, it's illegal. It is disturbing to unintentionally come across something like that. I'm sure that Google does what it can to remove illegal material. I've seen some pictures that made me sick.
