… The museum, located in Bethel, New York on the site of the 1969 music festival, is the brainchild of billionaire Alan Gerry …

So, assuming Mr. Gerry is worth only 1 billion, why doesn’t he simply fund the museum through private philanthropy? That would cost him a mere tenth of one percent of his overall wealth.

If he petitions for government money; he can later have the government also pay for the upkeep of the site, staff salary, etc. If he paid for it all himself, he would be in footing the bill for everything up front and in the long run.

I'm happy that this amendment got voted out. It's ridiculous to add something like this to a health and education bill. I'm not a huge fan of pork barrel speding, but I understand the purpose. I do think however that it should be put in an appropriations bill at least.

You guys might want to note the correct spelling of the word you've tried to alter in order to make fun of Hillary is wildebeest. If you're gonna make fun of someone, you should probably at least get the part of the spelling you didn't intend to alter right.

Is that the most important reply you can come up with?

Do you think that maybe "Beast" was intended?

That's a very interesting question to ask of someone in light of some of your recent posts about Senator Clinton. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Yes, it was. Beest is an Afrikaner word. We will no have no foreign words in a US campaign!

A million for Hillarys' pork while that bridge to nowhere gets 26 million.
Bring up Gores' electric bill & Edwards pricey haircut too, maybe we won't remember who is actually squandering the most tax payer money.

Point is, nobody should get a pass! The fact is that both parties have a despicable record of pissing away my money and I'm really fucking tired of it. I'm with you on the bridge, but a Woodstock Museum is a bit much as well. Enough is enough! These idiotic expenditures need to be exposed and the party responsible for them, publicly humiliated. If it's possible to do that to a politician.

The actual cost of the Bridge to Nowhere is;
TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY MILLION DOLLARS more than Hillary's pork!..........
typical Conservative politics and bullshit as usual.

Project Update (October 2005): Rep. Don Young (R-AK) secured a total of $1 billion for Alaska in the transportation bill, including $231 million for the Gravina Island "bridge to nowhere" in Ketchikan. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) attempted to amend the fiscal year 2006 transportation spending bill and remove funding for this bridge and Don Young's Way (formerly Knik Arm Bridge) in Anchorage and commit this funding to rebuilding the Interstate 10 bridge over Lake Ponchartrain in Louisiana. His amendment failed 85-12.

"Oil" being the one exception, right Jack? Oh wait. I forgot "terrorist," "Muslim," "Islam," "fearmonger," "hypocrite" and--most importantly--bullshit. ;)

You are kidding, right?

After all of the unsaviory nick-names people in this forum bestow upon conservative leadership, you want to quibbel with this? Even if you made no names up yourself, you allowed the very type of thing you disdain here?

Are all Hillary campaign workers so hypocritical?

I couldn't agree more.

It's okay for the Dem's to use names like General Betrayus, but if those nasty Republicans refer to a Democrat as a moniker, than that's a whole different ball game for them.

Love the hypocrisy.

I would ideally prefer both sides to rise above this type of thing, in the long run, though.

Uh, it's "unsavory."

And "quibble."

General Petraeus is a Republican politician? Figures.

I'm not quite sure what your point is, but be that as it may.

Consider the fact that the cackling lunatic hasn't given us her plan as it relates to a number of these very important issues. Just how does she intend to deal with terrorism? We've not a cogent response from any of her sycophants here. How about the Islamo-Fascists? What's her policy on dealing with those people? Oil is an easy one. Tax the shit out of the oil companies. Sounds great? Think you won't be paying those taxes in the end? If you don't you're nuts!

As to bullshit, she's slung more than her fair share. She's clearly in favor of it!
