This movie trailer indicates its more intense than I found it after watching. Intense as in twisted. I put on the same level as Hostel which was a one timer, but not as shocking as I thought it would be nor entertaining but viewed for shock value. Granted its pretty sick and twisted and I wouldn't want any part in that choo-choo especially being the boxcar!!!! Yuk.
The theme in Hostel wasn't the German mad scientist though it was the creepy poor eastern block town and the disgusting well off people from the UK, Germany, USA, & Japan that wanted to torture a human to death.
I like Dr. Victor Frankenstein and Van Helsing is my hero. Sadly Sam there is nothing unique about mad German scientist as HP Lovecraft wrote so eloquently about.

I don't know though is Dr. Frank-N-Furter German? Oh no I remember he is a alien.

But no one is as Kvlt as Ivad the Impaler ..Romania Rules!!!!!

Oh, just the fact that anyone would try to deny the importance of the selection of a non-American accent used for the lead role in an American horror film screams that the device is insidious and passes the uncritical viewing of an apathetic public. Please be more critical and consider honestly the context and content, as well as the relations the US and Germany share regarding science and politics, and then look at the dominant films that 'discuss' American - Non-American relations over the last fifty years, and most importantly, over the last 10 years. Now come back and tell me that there is no harm in this kind of cheap and xenophobic bullshit.

And that you could find such content entertaining - and I don't simply refer to the notions and motif of arse to mouth/arse to mouth conjugation (political, industrial and homophobic domains), but to the ideas of forced restraint; subversion of a medical/healing domain and those who are supposed to heal; victimisation of helpless American girls and non-Caucasian man all by an obviously German character; the notion of science (the 'opposite' of religion - that mainstay of US politics for the last ten years) being not only untrustworthy but satanic; and it is not lost on many people that much of the most hotly discussed science of the last century has predominantly come from where?! Germany. I could go on, but if nobody gets the offensive qualities of this film by now and chooses to remain with wool over their eyes, there is no point in a tutorial on a close reading of this shit.

aren't teenies in american horror movies eaten by rednecks all the time?

anyhow .. if this movie wouldn't be a total joke, and if it would portray all/many/most germans as crazy scientists .. maybe then i would understand the argument.
but that's just one sick guy .. as dr hannibal lecter, the guy from tattoo, das parfum .. or whatever other movie..
