The Hurt Locker

Best Original Screenplay: Mark Boal for “The Hurt Locker”

It was beautifully done I believe.. very well directed.

However, I'd give it 7/10. It's still a better quality film than Avatar though.

I give Avatar a slight edge over Hurt Locker, but agree neither film is a 10/10.

My dislike for war films in general certainly influences my lack of enthusiasm for Locker. The cinema verité shaky camera also turns me off completely - I can't help thinking about the guy holding the camera and whether his presence is logical to a scene - it distracts me. I half expect Jeremy Remner to shout to the camera "You with the camera! Get the fuck away from here of get some anti-bomb gear - this thing can go off, asshole!"

I watch it with one of my friend like a month ago. Got tired of it quick but i thought something would happen so we kept going. We stop after an hour and a half, we were so bored with.
