The phrase will forever ring with an air of foreboding, and drama, and not just because of Shakespeare, but from the original account all the way back to Plutarch's words. That said, Shakepeare immortalized the warning for the masses.

Of course, Caesar is a case study in power and rivalry, in excess and shifting sands of retribution.

The Roman clans were like the elite of most societies, and murder, assassination, and execution were just part of the real estate at the top.

Culturally, Caesar committed political sins that cost him his life, and he was but one in a long line of emperors, and would-be emperors, who enjoyed very brief and highly insecure perches at the top.

In a manner of reckoning, he deserved to die for his scheming and ambition and foreign alliances. His affair with Cleopatra and a son was giving him an unfair advantage againt his fellow Senators and generals and Consuls.

His rivals were quite pointed in their rebukes.

So, what of it today, when we commemorate this one assassination?

Who else in history, got what he had coming? It doesn't have to be a politician, but can be. It doesn't have to be execution, but can be. And who didn't?

Much is made on JUB of (supposed) karma, redefined as (un)divine retribution, but when do you think it occurred and to whom? Groups are also good subjects.

How are the mighty fallen?

Harvey Weinstein comes to mind.

Great wealth and power is so obscene and unnatural that it's able to circumvent karma. Case in point: that mangled apricot hellbeast Trump.

Bill Gates looks like he's been gettin' stabbed everyday. Or maybe it's lack of sleep from a guilty conscience.

Now where was he killed?
