I am so horrible about reading people and whether or not they are flirting or not. For the most part I just never notice. Anyways, this guy I like ended his last two text messages to me with a ":-)" smiley face. The last two guys I was with started sending me those when they were flirting but is this like a universal sign for flirting through text? Ugh. Maybe I'm thinking too much about this. Plus I am procrastinating instead of writing a paper. Lol. Anways just curious for some other points of view. No biggie. Hope everyone's having a good one! :D

Bingo. Unless the sentence before was "Maybe I should come over and give you a blowjob. :D". In which case, yes, he's flirting.

FFS, doesn't anyone call anyone anymore?

//end rant

I would need a lot more than a smiley face to think that somebody is flirting with me. With that said, you would be best to survey people in your age group as there is a whole text subculture that I don't know anything about.

By the way, I'm just as bad as you at picking up the signals that others are sending out. I don't know how many times somebody has told me how obvious it was that somebody was flirting with me and I had no clue.

I get smiley faces from co-workers, my superiors, and subordinates. Even clients. None of them are flirting with me, I can assure you. It's just a gesture of friendliness. :D
