The internet is "completely over," according to Prince, the legendary musician, sex god and apparent luddite. "The internet's like MTV," said the Artist Formerly Known As Relevant. "At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good."

The obsolescence of a worldwide network of computers comes as news to Urlesque. Trust us, the internet is not dead. Prince has just managed to troll the whole web without even being online.

While other artists are getting rich promoting themselves online, Prince's new album "20Ten" will be distributed exclusively on CD and given away for free with copies of the Daily Mirror newspaper. I guess a dying medium is a fitting place to carry on a dying career.

He's such a witty, insightful, and interesting person! I don't see why this article makes fun of him.

Oh, wait. I mean the opposite of all that...

It's pretty sad when your most recent albums are so bad you have to give them away as a "free gift with purchase."

I went to see his Oldies tour where they gave away a free copy of his "Musicology" album.

1) he'd sanitized the lyrics to all his songs to the point that it was cringe-worhty. Even "Little Red Corvette" was about a girl who made it home before curfew with her hymen intact.

2) "Musicology" sucked the bag. I listened to it once and threw it away.

pretty sure prince was over 20 years ago

The Internet is now irrelevant he says? I guess he has something common with the Internet then.

^QFT.

Prince became musically and socially irrelevant about a decade or more ago.

Particularly after he found Jehovah and became insufferably banal.

Tonight he's gonna party like it's 1999. (11 years ago)

I think I was born just late enough to miss the whole "prince" thing. Never really knew who he was, and never cared for his music. Never understood why so many people liked him, either.

Anyway, if you want a real glimpse at the batshit craziness of Prince, watch Kevin Smith's unabashed and brutally honest discussion about him. Prince hired Kevin Smith to film a documentary at his house (which will never see the light of day, apparently). Oh, but Kevin never signed the non-disclosure agreement.

Let the truth be told! (Part 1 of 3)

Apparently, you guys think that "Purple Rain" was about lavender-colored precipitation, "Around the World in a Day" was about a 24 hour circumnavigation of the globe, "The Vault:Old Friends 4 Sale" was about slavery, and "The Chocolate Invasion" was about an attack of killer Hershey bars.

I think "The Vault: Old Friends 4 Sale" is about contractual obligation.

Oh, but Kevin never signed the non-disclosure agreement.
The things one has to think about when living in the capitalistic U.S.A. where morals are low

That's really sad. Prince is an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, musician and producer. In addition to having great sex appeal, he is unique, eccentric, flamboyant and youthful. Once upon a time, he had an edge about him, an overt and uncompromising sexuality.

A loooooooong time ago, lol.
