Back in the fall of '04 I heard "Somebody told Me" and Immediately bought "Hot Fuss"
I loved the whole cd and was shocked that this band wasn't HUGE!:confused:
Of course "Mr. Brightside" was released and FINALLY people caught on to all the 'FUSS'!..|

A couple of months ago I heard 'When You Were young" and thought...meh....so so.
I thought 'brightside' & 'All These things...." were some of the best songs I've heard in awhile so it was going to be hard to beat them.
After repeated listens I now think "When You...." Is an excellant song!:=D:

The reviews started coming in for 'Sam's Town" and they were less than stellar!:(



I usually don't pay attention to reviews anyway and bought 'Sam's Town' as soon as It came out.
After the initial listen I wasn't too impressed:cry:
I bought it at Best Buy with the 2 bonus songs.
Really like "All The Pretty Faces!"..|

After a few more listens I'm LOVIN this cd!!!..| :=D: (!)

Besides "When We Were..." I love
"Sam's Town"
"For Reasons Unknown"
'Read My Mind"
"Uncle Jonny"
"My List"

I can't see "Bones" as the rumoured next single?:confused: It just okay to me..hopefully It'll grow on me!?!#-o


Any thoughts on "Sam's Town?"
 
I hadnt heard of them annoucing the next single yet but if it is Bone's id be happy cause its one of the more upbeat songs of the CD and I like it. It took me a couple listens of the CD too before I loved it.

Well according to Cinematical & also Netscape as of Sept.11th The Killers were in London filming the video 'Bones' with none other than TIM BURTON directing!!!!:=D: (!)

LOVE Tim Burton's films so the video should be excellant and hopefully i'll like the song better!?!#-o
 
I must admitt I'm a big killer's fan but the new album is a bit of a dissappointment. Im no saying that the album is a complete bomb, but I dont think the songs this album are as catchy as most of the HOTT FUSS album. but thats just me other than that some of my favorites include:

BLING :cool: :cool: :cool:
FOR REASONS UNKOWN :confused: :confused: :confused:
WHERE THE WHITE BOYS DANCE (!) (!) :gogirl: :gogirl:

I just hope that thier US tour goes off with a hit and I can't wait to see them in vegas again.
 
it's funny I bought it on the day of release like an enthusiast fan, but still not in the mood to give it a listen.
 
Look all of ya'll who have posted on this topic, I thought the first album was excellent with several good songs. However I was also not as impressed by their first single of the 2nd album. Its kinda of catchy, but really forgettable, I get the feeling that they didn't want to be typecasted by the first album some slight changes were made....
 
i loved the entire album is juts amazing specially bones but this album is not for the people that only liked somebody told me and mr... is different but it is better by the way brandon flowers is hot ^^
 
I'm liking the new album, but it is very different from Hot Fuss, which to this day is one my favorite CDs. I think the second album is generally one of the most difficult for a band, especially if the first one was as successful as Hot Fuss. They don't want to get typecast, so to speak, and they don't want to disappoint their fans. Not to mention I'm sure they wanted to try something different creatively. It's really not an easy line to walk. I for one can't wait for the next one. :)
 
I've been a fan of 'The Killers' ever since 'Somebody Told Me' hit airwaves, and I, for one, am FAR from dissapointed with 'Sam's Town'. I find myself drawn to almost EVERY song, in particular:

"When You Were Young" (Yep- STILL!)
"Bling (Confessions Of A King)"
"For Reasons Unknown"
"Read My Mind"
"Uncle Johnny"
"This River Is Wild"
"Where The White Boys Dance"


I can't WAIT for the video release of 'Bones', its not one of my fave. tracks off the album, but you can't go wrong if you have Tim freaking Burton directing the video- it'll be pure genius!

Besides, it doesn't really hurt that Brandon is hot...escept er...lose the beard ;)
 
They're an alright band...As long as you don't listen to them live.


They're one of those "Good on recording, terrible on stage" acts.
 
The new album is poor. It lacks decent lyrics for a start. There are no hooks and there is only 1 decent chorus on the whole album.

I like a lot of songs from Hot Fuss. Overall they seem like a decent band. The only song I have heard from their new album is "When You Were Young".. it's okay, but not as catchy as some of the others.

And yes, Brandon Flowers is hot, although some of the others need some serious help..

I didn't like 'when you were young' that much when I first heard it but now I think its great. I haven't heard the new album but I hope it doesn't suck because I really like The Killers.

It takes a few listens to get "Hot Fuss" out of your brain but damn..... "Sam's Town"
Is getting up there!(!)
 
I love the killers as for their album I think it takes time to grow on you.My favorite of Sam's town is of course When You Were Young which by the way is at no.14 on billboard chart this week :gogirl:

I TOTALLY agree with you. the songs that take me a little longer to like are the ones that i end up loving the most. this album wasn't spectacular when i first heard it. "when you were young" was my favorite track at the time, but now, i'm LOVING the whole album! every single second on there is awesome! sorry i'm so excited, but the killers are now my favorite band! exclamation point!
 
Well "Sam's Town" is now my favorite cd of 2006!:=D:

I have been singing "Bones" all morning and It used to be my least favorite!
That one and "Bling" which I'm sure I'll be singing soon!
If you don't like this cd...give It a few listens. It's addictive!..|
