The Killers

I am obsessed! The first album was great and the second one really DOES show some maturation on their part in terms of sound. Sure they'll get criticized for trying to escape their first CD, but who really wants the second album to be the same as their first anyway? And yeah, they got compared to U2 and Springsteen, but Flowers has had that voice of his the whole time. He's not suddenly acting like Bono for Sam's Town. And maybe the chords do sound a little Springsteeny, but it works and you're all just jealous!

At least an obsession with the killers will keep my mind off other things...

personally out of only listening to the album for only 3 weeks, "My List" really stands out. It's such a great song.

I have listened to it a few times now and I am starting to really like it.

The whole Hot Fuzz album was good for that sort of music, but I can't help but feel that the new album is all a bit naff. And the singer looks silly with a 'tache, it really doesn't suit him.

The same thing happened to me. When I first bought the CD, I wasn't impressed at all, but now I practically listen to it everyday. I really like all the songs after Uncle Johnny. Brandon Flowers really hits those high notes on this album. I do agree that Sam's Town is one of those albums that take a little bit to get into. I think its because it sounds so different than Hot Fuss, and when you first listen to it, you have Hot Fuss in your mind, just to find out that it doesnt sound anything like Hot Fuss.

My favorite songs on there are "Uncle Johnny" and "Why Do I Keep Counting". "When You Were Young" is a good song, but it doesnt stand out for me as my favorite like everyone else. And after actually listening to the songs above "Uncle Johnny", I must say I have fallen in love with "Bling(Confessions of a King)"

i agree completely with most of you. when you first listen its kinda jarring because you're expecting something like hot fuss but it's so different. in some ways it sounds like a different band. my favorite is "why do i keep counting" my favorite song. i used to always skip it but i listened to in the car one day and started to love it.

i once talked to a guy who wanted to have a threesome with Brandon Flowers andTom Meighan the lead singer of Kasabian, coz he liked the whole beard thing.
