the last film you watched thread

Cropsey (2009). A history of Staten Island told as the folklore and facts surrounding murdered and missing children in the Eighties.

I just finished watching Wolverine on Netflix. I'm not Japanese but this film felt like it discovered a loving form a racism. Made it seem like everyone in modern-day Japan know how to use katana, wear kimono and are obsessed with honor. It's a good thing Hugh Jackman is fucking hot or I don't think I could've rubbed one out as successfully as I did.

I was in the mood for some light fun last night so I watched this. I rather enjoyed it.

I just finished watching that on Netflix and, I'm sorry to say, I didn't much care for it. I wish I did, but it rubbed me the wrong way.

What a pile of pants this train wreck was. Hated it. Still it proved my point, that the only reason Michael Douglas when every award under the sun was because he played a gay man. And Matt Damon may be a really good actor, but there was no way he could play a 20 year old realistically. On the upside, Rob Lowe's face looked like it belonged in American Horror Story.

Man of Tai Chi. Some decent fight sequences, but VERY predictable plot and, well, Keanu... 'nuff said.

Edge of Tomorrow. It didn't suck, but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I thought I would. I generally like weird sci-fi flicks like this. But it seemed too generic and a blend of many other better movies. Cruise is looking mighty impressive at 52 though.

The yawning chasms of silence and seriousness intended to come across as masculine heroism struck me as an exercise in idiot boredom.

Drive (2011).

"Only Lovers Left Alive". First hour seemed irritatingly pretentious and slow - so, OK, it's a vampre movie. I got a good night's sleep and found the 2nd hour wasn't so bad. Reviews say it's satire. Sometimes I don't get that shit. I'm so glad the internet's there to explain things right away.
