Even though they used all the cliches of horror, it somehow was a fresh take on them considering the main protagonist's circumstances.

I agree, though it was probably a combination of many things. For instance this killer is - quite refreshingly in the slasher genre - not some all-knowing genius who holds the power through the entire film. It's a constant war for the upper hand between the victim and the killer, which (in my opinion) makes the film much more dynamic and thrilling to watch.

Unfortunately, only 'Before Midnight' has made it onto Netflix. I actually wanted to watch 'Before Sunrise' quite badly as it is the prequel and takes place in Vienna, one of my favourite cities. I have to say that I'm overall a bit disappointed by the limited number of films on the website.

Be that as it may, I've now become a bit of a standard Netflix viewer, who watches whatever the site dictates and every now and then I'll see a movie that I wouldn't have watched otherwise but that turns out to be quite entertaining. Case in point: 'Iris' (2014), a documentary about Iris Apfel. Now I'm not much of a fashion connoisseur, nor am I particularly interested in the subject, but I do usually enjoy films about it. I've had a great time watching 'The Devil Wears Prada', 'Prêt à Porter' (I still maintain Linda Hunt's character was the major inspiration for 'The Incredibles''s Edna Mode) and 'The September Issue'. To me, watching these films - much like travelling programmes on television - feels a bit like "Escapism Porn". Just dreaming away and imagining to live in such a shiny, glamorous world can be quite relaxing.

Its an interesting doc.

I watched the BFG today, It was ok. Think it should have been released 25 years ago to have more of a cultural imppact than now. They wouldn't have had the technology back then I guess.

I loved the BFG book so I was wondering whether or not to see it. Would you recommend it or give it a miss?

If you liked the book, you'll enjoy it. I read all of Roald Dahl books when I was a little nipper. I'd forgotten lots of the story as it waqs so long ago but as the movie progressed the memories of reading the book came flooding back! #nostalgia
I think you'll enjoy it.
