Tonight I will be watching Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning

I was quite looking forward to Beauty and the Beast; annoyingly, here in France, they haven't released an English version.

Surely the point of a musical is hearing the actual actors sing the original words.

Finally to see Beauty and the Beast in English I had to go to Monte Carlo. This meant catching the 17hr bus to arrive in time for a 19hr showing. Then I had a two and a half hour wait for the first night bus to get me home at 00hr30.

Was it worth it just to hear Emma Watson sing? The answer is yes. I found the film amazing never having seen the animated version. Emma Thompson singing bought tears to my eyes. Dan Stevens version was wonderful and the words to the songs perfect; translations of songs into French never work.

They showed La La Land in English in all the cinemas here in Nice why they didn't for Beauty and the Beast I am unable to fathom.

I might add that the new film with Guy Pearce isn't even being released in Nice.

Like Snowpiercer, Train to Busan (2016) is about economic class and locomotives. It's much better though.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 2 isn't interminable because the narrative artfully requires it to be. It's long because there's a profitable market for pap.

Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho." Great movie, classic concept, and a devious momma's boy that inspired the Bate's Motel... All interesting <3
