The Power of the Dog on Netflix. It is a western starring Benedict Cumberbach as a cranky, nasty rancher who owns the ranch with his brother who he snarks 'fatso' at constant'y. The brother marries a woman who has a gay son. The torment from Phil and other ranch hands is miserable. But there is a twist. Cumberbach and the boy are terrific as are most of the cast.

Yesterday I saw "Belfast" Written and directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Jamie Dornan and Judi Dench. It is an autobiographical story of growing up in Belfast during the tumultuous period of 1969.

It was an interesting movie. A bit slow in the beginning. But overall I thought it was a good movie. It was filmed in black and white too!

Last night I saw the re-imagined "West Side Story." The movie was very good! Same songs and music from the original movie. It has a more diverse cast than the original movie. Rita Moreno who played Anita in the original version has a role in this version playing Valentina the widow and owner who run's Doc's Drugstore. Ansel Elgort plays Tony and he is very HOT!

This afternoon I saw "Being the Ricardo's" starring Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem. It was written and directed by Aaron Sorkin.

Both performances were very good!

I saw "Limbo" (2020) The movie is a wry and poignant observation of the refugee experience, set on a fictional remote Scottish island where a group of new arrivals await the results of their asylum claims. It centers on Omar(Amir El-Masry), a young Syrian musician who is burdened by his grandfather's oud, the king of Arabic music instruments, which he has carried all the way from his homeland.

It was a very interesting movie but very slow moving. Check it out!
