the last film you watched thread

Such a great film! Absolutely fascinating.

Yeah, it reminded me of David Lynch's better movies in a roundabout way, with an artsier patina. Very enjoyable. I wanted to post a trailer for it, but decided not to given the film's history with neanderthal censors and the age of the hero.

A virulent contagious outbreak is managed by cretins. [REC] (2007).

There are my Poe pieces and my Dunsany pieces, but alas, where are my Lovecraft pieces?
--H.P. Lovecraft

A smart little biography on his real and fictional problems, Lovecraft, Fear of the Unknown.

John Carter. It didn't suck as much as most everyone said. At least it had an unique story. I like how it didn't take itself too seriously. But it was hard to follow; the story could have been trimmed down some more, it was all over the place. Taylor Kitsch was hot, obviously.

Pride and Prejudice - 1940 version. Apparently they took major liberties with Jane Austen's story, but it was entertaining. :D

Ides of March ........... sorta dull

good eye candy though

yeah, I'm on a Disney kick for some reason...

The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978). The classic about the angry young hero who wants to bring justice to the people by teaching them kung fu.

Easily one of my all time favourite films. The ballroom scene is just spectacular.

Edgar Rice Burroughs is a genius. Unfortunately, the film isn't.

Yes, yes it did. The actors were much much older than the characters they played but it was Greer Garson and Laurence Olivier. Completely lavish. Edna May Oliver as Lady Catherine was just wonderful.

Sigh. If only David Lean had had the wherewithal to make an excellent serial of his good film, Oliver Twist (1948).

Take Shelter. Some guy questions his own sanity and goes to extreme measures to deal with his fear of storms, or fear of the pending doom from his repeating nightmares. This indie has great acting, subtle haunting story, but a somewhat dragging pace. I recommend it though.

I am Number Four - not bad, super hot Alex Pettyfer makes up for all the weaknesses in the storyline, waiting for the sequel.

Takers - liked it! Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen, Jay Hernandez, Matt Dillon and some pretty cool action scenes.

Kill the boss - so boring, a waste of time!

Ted 2012 - totally awesome! The funniest movie I've seen in a while.
