the last film you watched thread

I love this movie, fuck what the critics say.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle Of Life
Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens

Just watched Call Me By Your Name today. I still need time to digest. I feel like I got punched in the stomach. At first, I thought Elio will narrate the movie like he does in the book. Instead, you can see everything through the character's eyes and their acting. No narrator at all which is incredibly amazing. Just pure and simple performances. Timothee Chalamet is the essence of awe. He's so so good. Armie Hammer finally has a role that allows him to shine. However, he just got snubbed at SAG Awards and I am so mad at that lol. Hopefully, he will get a nomination at the Oscar alongside Chalamet whom I believe will land an Oscar nomination for Best Actor for sure. All and all, this film is pure sensuality and emotion. I'd recommend it to anyone. :-)

This movie opens here on Friday in Fort Lauderdale. I am looking forward to seeing this movie. I read the book awhile ago and enjoyed it very much. I hope the movie is as good as the book and does not let me down. Usually the movie adaptation is not as good as the book that it is based on. I hope my expectations are not too high.

Excellent film.

Yes, I saw this movie and it was great. This movie is getting a lot of award nominations.

This afternoon I saw "3 Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri." Starring Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson, and Sam Rockwell.

This movie has been nominated for a lot of awards too so far. It deserves award nominations. Frances McDormand was great in this movie.

I have high expectations too. Some details from the book are left out or adapted but for cinematic reasons, I understand. What I love the most is the feeling I received after watching it. It's kind of daunting in a good and positive way. The bettersweet feeling of love and lost. It's kinda haunted me for days. I wish it never ends both the film and the love of Elio and Oliver. To simply put, everyone needs to experience it for themselves.

The Last Jedi - Really enjoyed that.

Fanboys are claiming that the prequels are a better film, I don't know how one can claim that when they're not even good films, let alone good star wars films.

This afternoon I saw "The Disaster Artist" starring James Franco and Dave Franco. This movie was a very good. Better than I had expected. I usually do not like movies that James Franco stars in. He directed and also wrote this movie. It is based on a true story.
At the end of the movie it mentions that we still do not know where Tommy Wiseau(James Franco's character) is from or his age or how he got his money.
I looked him up on IMDB and Tommy Wiseau is 62 and He is originally from Poland. As to where or how he has so much money that seems to still be a mystery.

I hope James Franco gets an Oscar Nomination for his starring role in this movie. I thought he was that good. Tommy Wiseau is quite a strange character.

This afternoon I saw "Roman J. Israel, Esquire" starring Denzel Washington and Colin Farrell.

This was a great movie. I hope Denzel Washington gets an Oscar Nomination for this movie. He was great in the movie and he is a great actor.

Next film on my list to watch. :)

Wrath Of The Titans - Had not seen this sequel and it was on Netflix so I thought I would give it a try. Very average so no wonder there were no more sequels!

I too just finished watching it. Unexpectedly actually, I was just browsing new movies and there it was. So here's what I think:

- I agree the film is 90% emotion (depiction)
- I slightly disagree that this is a purely gay film, in that both the main characters fuck women as well
- I liked the setting, very pretty
- It was a bit long in places
- The Elio character was cute as hell and is a fine actor, a very small ass on him makes for imagining the tightest fucks ever (yeah I said it)
- The Oliver character was also fine, but somewhat more predatory... no, that's not the right word. I don't know what word works here. I mean, he clearly loved Elio and the sex was great but he was wasn't just more dominant, he was slightly more deceptive in that he had an 'on again, off again' girl back home
- Wonderful depiction of parents and their understanding of love/emotion
- Summary: 7/10 (I am vulcan-like but still thought it was good, just sadly predictable in that you kind of knew where it was all going in the end).
