the last film you watched thread

The Big Sick (2017)

I actually liked it, surprisingly.

The Purge: Election Year (2016) is obviously crap.
The previous sequel was also underwhelming. They should have stopped after the first movie.

Today I saw the documentary "RBG." It was about Ruth Bader Ginsburg one of the judges on the Supreme Court.

It was very interesting as well as entertaining.

It is one of the best documentaries I have seen so far!

Check it out!

Life Of The Party - I thought it would be rubbish, but I got a cheap ticket so I thought I would give it a try and surprisingly I enjoyed it!

Johnny Saxby (Josh O'Connor) works long hours in brutal isolation on his family's remote farm in the north of England. He numbs the daily frustration of his lonely existence with nightly binge-drinking at the local pub and casual sex. When a handsome Romanian migrant worker (Alec Secareanu) arrives to take up temporary work on the family farm, Johnny suddenly finds himself having to deal with emotions he has never felt before. An intense relationship forms between the two which could change Johnny's life forever.

Loved It!!

Mississippi (1935)

Tom Grayson, played by Bing Crosby, cannot relate to the honor code of the old south and gets ostracized by the woman he was set to marry and her family too. Grayson finds refuge and income as a showboat entertainer where he becomes billed as the singing killer by Commodore Jackson, played by WC Fields.

In spite of some dated material the film holds attention and a viewer is treated to enjoyable songs like Its Easy To Remember sung by Crosby.

Saturday night I saw "Disobedience" starring Rachel Weisz and Rachel McAdams. The movie was very good. It was a sad story and I was surprised with the ending.

Check it out!

Ocean's 13 (Seeing Ocean's 8 on Friday so I thought I would watch the other ones again before seeing it.)

Love Simon. Loved it. I'm planning on watching it again.
