the last film you watched thread

Locked Down (2021)

"A couple attempts a high-risk, high-stakes jewelry heist at a department store."

The Pope's Exorcist (2023)

6/10

Trailers made it look like Stigmata (1999), but it is not even close. Coloring was bad, lighting was off, makeup looked anywhere from bad to decent and the story made no sense for a few reasons.

Not sure what thread to put this in so I will put it in both.

Spirted Away: Live on Stage

10/10

First time ever watching a play on film. Spirited Away: Live on Stage was a masterpiece as a play and amazing as a film. I can not say enough about it.

Oh yeah, those Fathom Events cinemacasts of theater, dance, and opera from great theaters far away are wonderful. That's how I got to see the National Theatre's Angels in America with Andrew Garfield and Nathan Lane; no way I could have afforded the tickets when it came to Broadway.

Yeah it is great they are cheaper, but I don't think I would like most theater that way. Even for SA I was getting tired as there was no intermission. I am sure I will see other operas and plays that way though. Oregon is a bit out of the way for a lot of productions.

This afternoon I saw "Guy Ritchie's The Covenant" starring Jake Gyllenhall. Very intense movie but I believe it is based on a true story. I enjoyed this movie was not dull at all!

Check it out!

Evan Almighty (2007)

"God contacts Congressman Evan Baxter and tells him to build an ark in preparation for a great flood."

Just back from watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. I can thankfully say that Marvel are back on form with this one.

Last night I saw "Big George Foreman: The Miraculous Story of the Once and Future Heavyweight Champion of the World." It Starred Khris Davis, Jasmine Mathews, and Forest Whitaker. It is a biopic depicting his life from childhood to his comeback as the Heavyweight Champion of the World. It was a wonderful movie that was not dull at any time.

Check it out!

Just got back from seeing it. Great film. Sadly most people will never see it.

I would have gave it a 10 out 10 if it would have covered the later years of his life and if it was in French. The movie seemed half done as it didn't cover his war service.
If it was in French fewer people would see it! You are correct in saying that most people will never see it! Great film!

Picture Perfect (1997)

"A young advertising executive's life becomes increasingly complicated when, in order to impress her boss, she pretends to be engaged to a man she has just met."

The Object of My Affection (1998)

"A pregnant New York City social worker begins to develop romantic feelings for her gay best friend, and decides she'd rather raise her child with him, much to the dismay of her overbearing boyfriend."
