I wrote a check for membership renewal at an organization to which I belong, and gave it to the president of the organization to give to his husband, the organization's treasurer. Well, yesterday I got a text message from the treasurer, asking me to mail a check directly to him, as apparently his hubby lost the check I had written. I am not too happy about this, because in addition to sending in the new check, I'll probably have to put a stop payment order on the old check, and suffer a $35 charge or whatever my bank charges for that these days.
