Love him or hate him, he's still written some outstanding songs:

Two clips from the motion picture "Phantom of the Opera"

Donna Summer, 1993 live performance of "Don't Cry For Me, Argentina"

Barbra Streisand - "Memory"

Yvonne Elliman - "I Don't Know How To Love Him"

Kate Ceberano - "I Don't Know How To Love Him"

Strange description for a composer who's shows have all opened in London before Broadway. I could understand if it was a Broadway composer you were referring to.

Fair point, but I was being facitious and didn't think of West End Wanker 'til just now :D

Well, as I said in my first post, I can hum lots of his songs from a varitey of his shows so it's definately not just about spectacle to me.

Okay, ozguy: challenge. You say that you've liked all of the Webber shows that you've seen. What do you remember about them? Do you remember the msuic? can you still hum the tunes? Or do you only remember what the show looked like? Do you only remember the cool effects that they did?
Yeah, all of those things. Remember, I said that I was not a huge fan of Lloyd-Webber's but I certainly enjoyed the shows of his that I saw and yes, there are numerous musical numbers from all of those shows that I know well. I have CD and DVD recordings of all of his shows that I've seen ..... Phantom, Cats, Evita and JC Superstar .... I play them often and thoroughly enjoy them. Believe me, I can sing along to most of them!

What does it matter what you "remember" most from a show, anyway? If you enjoyed it, you enjoyed it .... end of discussion.

Totally agree Ozguy! Plus Lloyd Webber is responsible for writing two of the longest running musicals in history.
