The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

^ you can do that in this game, too. it is the Z button (top back button on the nunchuk)

Well, the Wii does its best with what it has. It can't ever reach Skyrim graphics, of course. Nintendo should've made the Wii HD in the first place. :/

Yeah it took me a bit more to get used to the controls. I dunno if it is just me but I find the controls to either go from hypersensitive (angling to throw a bomb) to really sluggish (balancing anything). Trying to do that pumpkin carrying sidequest is just stupid.

Nintendo could care less about HD. But it seems they are getting with the times with the Wii U.

funny enough, that pumkin thing i managed on my first try. also i can perfectly control the bug/scarab.

balancing over the ropes ... now that'a different story.

THis game should have been saved for WII U, which is a year or so late.
I still like Ocarina the best.

I like the game so far. (getting last flame) I really like the painting like graphics and the music. I haven't had any problems with the controls except trying to do the duet with the girl from the pumpkin island.

You should do that, Pianist. We'll let you know.

except trying to do the duet with the girl from the pumpkin island.

don't get me started on that thing!

(my bf finally managed to do it yesterday, after i wanted to punch a hole into the screen)

I have no problems with the scarab at all but the whole balancing thing is just frustrating. I dunno if it has to do with the fact that my couch/futon is lower than my TV set (hardly play my Wii). I almost think it is impossible to walk perfectly across a tightrope. The more I play this game, the more it feels like an amalgamation of all the Zelda games in a good way.

I finished the mining facility just now and that was a doozy of a puzzle dungeon. I will say, the puzzles in this game are far more difficult than any other Zelda I've played.

Just saw your post Corny and I know playing the harp is fucking bitch. Even trying to learn the first song I struggled. A neat idea, poorly executed.

We got stuck a few times at the beginning. But now we proceed quite well. The "mining" puzzle style will continue in the sand ship .. where I hated them ;)

Yeah, even learning how to kill the enemies in there is a puzzle. Knowing you have to slash at the beamos (I'm so used to bombing them in the previous Zeldas) and then the flying bug with the missiles and bombs was a pain too.

I will add another thing to my control frustration too since I just unlocked the fun fun mini-game: controls while falling suck or maybe I just don't really get how they work.

I stink at the Fun Fun Island game : [ I can't even get through more than 2 rings.

Just finished the sixth dungeon and the stuff right after and the game got way better for me, story-wise. Very interesting to hear the beginning of it all. ^.^ And even a tad emotional, haha.

Well their body-parts basically show it. BUT .. you can also directly shoot the eye with the bow :)

I just finished the fifth dungeon and so far the only problem I have is controlling Link while he's falling.
Ugh .. we are trying to receive the baby rattle. And you need to control a fall here. It's fucking impossible if you ask me.

The harp isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had a lot of trouble the first time I had to play it but once I realized that I had to move the wiimote a bit before the ring of light moves back in/out playing the harp is a lot easier.
With the rings I didn't have any problems either. That duet on the pumpkin island is a different story ..

You don't really need the shield that much. If you master it however, much becomes easier. And it is imho needed for defeating the mechanical pirate boss on the desert ship.

I don't believe that me saying a shield is needed to block blows is spoiling  I just said that it is not really important to block something with it elsewhere in the game (at least as far as we are).

There is another way? We tried several other things before, more or less unrelated we got to the point where you could jump and the sword fairy acknowledged that this is the correct point ..

I will have a look, again.

I had trouble getting the rattle too but finally got it. There's another way to get it besides the waterfall?

Yup. I got really pissed jumping off that waterfall trying to land on that nest. I was looking around Skyloft when I saw an easier way to get the rattle(highlight to see how I did it).

I saw Beedle's Airship fly really close to the nest so I waited until he was close and rang the bell. I went up and used the Gust Bellows to blow the sand away and used the Beetle to grab the rattle.

Oooooooh, never would of thought of that.
