Did it work that way? Or was it like those hotels where they discontinued room service because they thought they were losing money, seemingly never for once considering that the room service was why guests wanted to pay for higher tariffs to begin with.

To be fair I've been known to sidle over to newspapers and read the headlines.

The amount of people who are unpleasantly surprised I can see that even they exist is ....telling.

-edited to add - though I wouldn't be concerned with the printing on the back or the stick. The cane comes apart in threes and when I read a newspaper I occasionally fold the page over. Tho that last doesn't matter much as I've never seen a blank back page.

In retrospect, tho, I am concerned that he's leaning the cane against the table. Defies the laws of gravity unless the floor is a particular kind of tile with deep grout lines to rest the tip against but leaning it around like that is a hazard for all involved. Usually it just slides off and crashes to the floor. Should've folded it, the inconsiderate bugger. Then again, folding it is a hazard all its own.

I think the same artist has a similar one involving a hotel lobby.

what I noticed that hasn't been mentioned is a bloody handprint leading to the restrooms - there is an octopus behind the waitress on the floor - and there appears to be second octopus on the floor on the customer side of the counter....

The blind guy reading the newspaper is a little odd and the skull in the coffee cup is odd. I assumed that the tentacles on the floor behind the waitress were tubes for equipment, but there isn't any equipment on the shelf for them and they do look like octopus tentacles.
