The Best of I lOve Lucy.

Do we still Love Lucy? When Nic at Nite was better in the ole days I used to wacth Lucy,Mary,Facts Of life, and more 0's and 50's shows on at night, Now I hardly wacth Nic at Night, I Love Lucy was the only likeable show now when they do play it on NAN,Lucy made the show but,it wouod be hard to wacth it with out Ethel and Fred and Ricky, Which shows did u like when it was on the air or now, Also The Honeymooners was allright, not as good as Lucy though. The Candy Episode is my all time favorite.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

I grew up watchin "I love Lucy" and then later "Life with Lucy".

So, Hell fuckin' yeah I still love Lucy.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

The Vitameatavegimin episode is my favorite.

Second is the episode when Little Ricky is born.

One of the reasons for its great success (besides Lucy's genius, of course) is the "three camera" filming technique which Desi invented. It became the standard for recording sitcoms until fairly recently.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

Ah, such a great show!

Saw some recently...one of which Lucy went to a vineyard and wound up fighting some lady in a thing full of grapes.

Another she and Ethel each wanted an outfit by a famous designer, so Ricky and Fred got the idea of making outfits out of potato sacks and buckets. The designer saw them and made them one of his designs, but Lucy and Ethel had already burned the originals.

Ah, so many good memories.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

I miss that old Nick @ Nite lineup. Lucy, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore Show, Facts of Life, etc. <3

My favorite episodes include Vitameatavegamin, the one where she stomps the grapes, the ones where Fred and Ricky dress as burgalars on the ledge, and the candy factory.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

Not just one but, but to many to list.

but on top of list, is Lucy selling Vitamitavegimin. and making wine. Our when the move to to country and Lucy and Ethal bought 500 baby chicks..

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

i loved lucy too but my favorite sitcom is 'my three son's'. it seemed more real to me as a kid, ironing board in the living room, the dog tramp sleeping on the furniture and oatmeal for breakfast. robbie [don grady] was easy on the eyes too. i have all 380 episodes on dvd and watch it often.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

OMG the putty nose!!!!!!!! LMFAO I completely forgot about that one!!!!

AND I loved the country episodes too.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

The William Holden episode was my favorite.

Re: The Best of I lOve Lucy.

I loved the episode where Lucy thought that Ricky was having an affair with a female dancer, and she disguised herself in this hideous costume and tried to spy on him. And the hilarious part was that Ricky knew all along and he let her make a fool of herself. She was so out of place! I think this episode is from season one.

Do we still Love Lucy?

Do we still love Lucy? And if so what is your fav episode. I really did'nt like The Lucy Show that was after Lucy, and it did not have anything to do woth the orginal but,did Ethel appear as Lucy's friend in I Love Lucy or used a another tvname?

Re: Do we still Love Lucy?

Don't know how far this thread will go, but I definitely loved the old Lucy episodes.
Faves?
Too many to list...I'll make up the titles... fans will know the episodes:

"Vitametavegemin" (sp?)
"Grapes in Italy"
"William Holden in Hollywood"
"The Bet on Telling the Absolute Truth"
etc.

Re: Do we still Love Lucy?

Yes, Lucy should always beloved. She is still being copied to this day by other sitcoms. The program was truly funny without using one fart joke, poop joke, jokes about sex, body parts, etc. It had genuine humor rather than going for the cheap and easy laugh.

The trips to Hollywood and Europe are great.

I also really like the episode when Ricky puts Lucy on a schedule because she is always late.

Btw, imagine showing a sit com now with the husband spanking the wife because she was "bad." lol

Re: Do we still Love Lucy?

I enjoy all episodes. I like the loving cup getting stuck on Lucy's head. I like all the episodes of the road trip to Hollywood. Vivian Vance was Ethel on I Love Lucy and Viv on the later sitcom, which never grabbed me the same way.

Re: Do we still Love Lucy?

I liked pretty much all of the episodes. One of my fav's is the one where Lucy was making a home movie (Western theme) and accidentally taped it over Ricky's tape. I didn't really like the episodes w/ a lot of singing and music. Lucy will always be a staple of American comedy. My only problem is that I can't find the re-runs on TV. I'm sure it's on, but I guess when I'm not at home.

Re: Do we still Love Lucy?

I've always loved Lucy and still do, though catching her on TV can be extremely difficult.

As for favorites...where do I begin...

Re: Do we still Love Lucy?

I Love Lucy from day one. I am proud to say was born on Jamestown NY the home town of Lucy. I got see here in 1957 when she and Desi came to premier of the film Forever Darling.
