then, there's the Waco, Texas, suspension bridge. . .originally designed for cattle crossing the Brazos river on the Chisolm Trail, it was only after World War I that it was mostly limited to automobile traffic. Today, due to age and other safety issues, it is primarily a pedestrian bridge :=D:

The geology of that has got to be fascinating! The top layer looks like basalt that erupted under water while the middle layer is plainly basalt that erupted on land.... and are the gaps perhaps lava tubes?

It's Fingal's Cave on the island of Staffa in the Inner Hebrides in Scotland. The gaps are sea caves.
