German shepherd is one breed in the mix recommended for me for a new service dog.

They didn't recommend the beer, but I'll take it.

They're not recommended as a pure breed for my disability; the recommended mix is (American) Mastiff, German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and the last can be pretty much any breed not on the "not this one" list; Boxer is the one listed but a Labrador, extra Golden Retriever, extra German Shepherd, or some others are okay.
