No I believe that the marking for the Royal Canadian Air Force was a red inner circle with a blue outer circle. The star is American and the red dot was Japanese.

I never understood the reason to mark the plane other than for friendly fire but gunners were always trained on knowing the silhouette of all planes. My neighbor growing up who fought for England during WW2 was a gunner and told me stories about it.
