The Magnificent Splendour Never Dies.

These are pictures of an amaryllis currently blooming on my patio. I rescued them from a spot where they were going to die a few years ago. The elderly lady next door planted them on my side of the property line before she died, in a shady spot in sandy soil with no nutritive value. I thought they were worth saving, and they have put out spectacular blooms.
