We don't like the deer on Fire Island. There have been too many of them for at least 30 years, they'll come up and eat your snacks off your beach blanket, they'll eat any of the plants on your house's deck that they can get at, and they won't get out of your way on the boardwalks, especially at night. (Not to mention the Lyme disease, which isn't really their fault ...)
