I have been having some thoughts and all you lefties are right(correct).

All the stories on the TV news and in the Print this past week,or so,are all about the Dems.(well 90%? anyway). Every time Mrs. Clinton,Mr.Obamha, or Mr. Edwards open their mouths, tape rolls and we see/read it.

How many stories or news articles have you seen this week about the top 3 + Fred on the Pug side ? Maybe ummmm one on each ?

Lets try this on for size. The Media is RIGHT LEADING. The Media is covering all the things the left said and report about all the fighting, name calling, and how immature they are on matters of the State.(Hell nobody cared that Tancredo is nuts) etc. WHY ???

The Media's plan is to let the left implode onto itself, and allow thee voters to see how sacked the DNC is really. THUS the Media keeps the spotlight off of the RNC and makes them look smart, civil, and not a threat to world peace , Safe & secure Americans are happy.

Many may say that the GOP have nothing worthy of print or air time. And you are/would be correct. The GOP need not say anything,as the DNC make them shine from all the dark the opposition is doing. Why should the Pugs talk about Universal Health Care, that they don't want, when the Dims talk more and makes it look bad ?

Pugs let the Dims talk about giving freebies to illeagels and only want walls.
" " " " " " Canadian style Health Care and they)pugs) just sit back and smile,,,& think.....The Government has trouble with Walter Reed & they want to had health care over to the same Governed powers.

I could go on and on But why ?

Yeppers,, Thanks Media for not putting on the top of your Nightly News Cast and Page One. Thanks for doing the work of the GOP and covering all the DNC has to say ..|

Maybe it's because the Republicans have become irrelevant? Or, maybe it's because the media wants ratings and covers things people are interested in?

Or, maybe it's all a really big conspiracy?

The Dims are the ones who hate the troops, Sprout. Just ask Dusty Harry. "The war is Lost",, etc..... Dims have no faith/trust/ or conf in the troops. They think the troops are as inapt as GWB. Sad,very Sad.

Letme...you pretty much summed it up when you say the the republicans and (I might add) their neocon "core" have become irrelevant. I like to watch/listen to all sides so I get a clear picture of what's going on. Tonight I had to tune in to Fox News and Bill O'Reilly. Of course, once again, Bill is not in the chair so I was subject to the rightwing hysterics and his substitute "propaganda mouth" Michelle Malkin, who is like Hitler on steroids. After the first 10 minutes of Malkin screeching and bashing every single Dem candidate, every single news journalist that DOESN'T work for Fox and calling everyone imaginable a "liberal", like it was a four letter word, I had enough. How anyone can absorb so much hate and how this "woman" can be allowed to spew her lies and falsehoods, is beyond me. The rightwing maintains that all media is liberal-biased in order to validate their own hate-speak that permeates not only Fox News but all neocon-controlled media. Standby. Rupert Murdocks empire of hate is growing again with his recent acquisition of the Wall Street Journal. The right is determined to undermine freedom of press...and they are succeeding. The drek, hate and propaganda coming out of Fox News is truly astonishing.

If people didn't want to watch all the democratic news in the media nowadays then they wouldn't. TV is all about the ratings and the democrats get more ratings and more people care about the democrats. That's what people want to watch. People need to stop complaining that it is a conspiracy. The polls have proven that the democrats are more popular so of course they are going to be more talked about in the media! It's not that complex!

I would argue that the media IS left-leaning. But the fact of the matter is, the Democratic primary is just MORE interesting at this point. I'd rather watch the spat over Barack Obama's ridiculous comments than hear about Fred Thompson's fundraising dissapointments or the Sam Brownback/Mike Huckabee fued. This is why the media chose to try and spark interest in the GOP field by propping up Fred T. If this guy wasn't in the race, we could all safely say the GOP primary at this point would be one long monotonous affair with Giuliani pulling-away at this point in the polls. The media needed suspense, and they got it.

I would also argue that the MORE coverage the Dems get, the better off their candidates are, not the other way around. The GOP is perceieved to be irrelevant because they haven't been covered as much by the media. And that ain't no mistake. Look at the media's coverage of second and third-tier candidates of both parties. I've read stories about Kuicinich, Edwards, Richardson, Biden, Dodd, hell even Gravel...as for the GOP alsorans? Ron Paul, and maybe Huckabee. No Brownback, Hunter, Thompson, and Tancredo only got a mention about his appearance at the national NAACP convention.

Conservative-leaning media: Talk Radio...(arguably) Fox News.

Liberal-leaning media: Shit, everything else.

That's not to say I don't LOVE MSNBC (a rather fair channel by my estimation) and I'm not a big fan of Fox, but we all can at least agree that there does exist a slight ideological bent (especially in coverage to the 2008 election), and it ain't conservative the majority of the time.

Of since ya brought the troops up.

Truth is per day this is the least casualty war we have ever been involved in and it will get better because of this war.

On the media, they are blood leaning and money leaning. If it smells it sells so they will put up what they can sell higher ad prices for and make mo money.

BTW with the aquisition of WSJ by Murdoch you could rightly say the media just got a little farther right of center.

I bet ya a dollar that Bloomberg wont get all smarmy leftist just because WSJ is perceived to be a murdochian regime. In fact the only thing that will change either will be ...money. As it should be for financial networks.

Actually the WSJ Editorial Page will probably moderate because it can't possibly go further right than it is now and Murdoch's desire to increase circulation internationally.

I am tired of the phony argument about winning/losing the war. There is no war to win/lose. What the troops are attempting to do is establish enough stability for the Iraq government to function. Unfortunately the Iraq government does not want to function. This is a nation building/peace keeping exercise that presently looks to be an abject failure.

OK I am really tired of hearing of how the media is left leaning or biased. It is not. The media is, as it should be, adversarial. When the republicans were in charge we had 6 years of Ken Star and 60 million dollars spent to discover that Bill got a blow job in the oval office. And the media was all over the story 24’/7 Now that it is the democrats turn to investigate what king bush is up to we have people like Rush limpcheese trying to say that you can only believe what you hear on faux news. The main task of any news agency is to disbelieve the current administration and to question their motives. To do less would weaken our entire society and led us to a fascist state. Which I think we are currently heading towards.

Maybe it's because they're cowards and there's little to report?

A news story from yesterday:

On July 20, the Bush administration took preemptive action designed to mute in advance charges of a cover-up in the likely event that the dispute over present and former White House aides' testimony turns into a head-on collision with Congress.

Top White House officials told the Washington Post that President Bush has the power and would use it to bar the Justice Department from prosecuting contempt of Congress charges against those claiming executive privilege.

This is a highly controversial claim. Mark J. Rozell, of George Mason University, told the Post that Bush's assertion of presidential power "is almost Nixonian in its scope and breadth. . . . It's allowing the executive to define the scope and limits of its own powers."
In an interview with the Huffington Post, Harvard professor of constitutional law Laurence Tribe was highly critical of the Bush administration's invocation of executive privilege. He described it as "promiscuous to the point of being frivolous and dangerous to the survival of the republic," noting that the use of executive privilege to cover up crimes could be an impeachable offence.

Rudy Giuliani, John McCain and Fred Thompson all ducked the issue.

The Giuliani campaign wrote in an emailed response: "On background....Giuliani campaign had no comment at this time." Brooke Buchanan, press spokeswoman for John McCain: "no comment." Mark Corallo, spokesman for Fred Thompson: "Fred is not a candidate."

I agree that the "adversarial" nature is a good thing - a necessary thing - to question - to proble - whether it is regarding progress in Iraq or why oil prices are skyrocketing

however, there is a difference between news reporting, investigating and op ed

and I believe that "coverage" of a national situation should come from a neutral mindset to begin with - as in anything can happen when i begin to investigate

and i believe that the current default mechanism for news organizations - is skewed - it is liberal - it is biased

when i see the cable nets lined up side by side - and i see/hear how they cover events - i can't help but feel this way

Fox is the outlier

the left screams the loudest about Fox - cause the best defense is a good offense

but this is a really good post

and i agree that investigative journalism is a lost art

the "gotcha" stories are much more frequent and much less compelling/newsworthy

then again, i could be totally wrong ............

I believe in the tooth fairy. But please, don't ask me to so-called "prove" he exists because if you did, I'd have to confess -- I cannot prove it.

So. How can you prove the media is liberal - what metrics do you use to determine that, yep, CNN is "x" much liberal and MSNBC is "y" more liberal? I mean, surely, chance1, you have a means of proving your point, no? Otherwise, your claim has as much cred as my tooth fairy does. I look forward to you detailing your scheme.

not looking for WMDs my man  - I feel NO need to prove it to u

the way an argument is framed

the way questions are asked

the issues that get raised

I don't need Brent Bozell's group or media matters to tell me who's biased and who's not

I'm feeling damn good about my abilities to comprehend what people are saying/writing and what they mean and how they're doing it

damn good

like take u for example

I have no PROOF that ur a flaming libby?

none

but in reading ur works or art, I get the distinct impression that u r just that

not gonna look to prove it

u can prove if there were/are WMDs

can't prove bias - u have to see it/feel it - and u have to be open to it

am I making sense?

sorry alfie - not gonna bite on this one - it's a loser

great morning in NYC - really great

32 miles on my new bike - u should try it
