  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

The movie you would see over and over again?

MOULIN ROUGE (Ewan McGregor/Nicole Kidman version) I don't know why this was considered such a "flop" by so many......I think Ewan is at his sexiest in this show, and the Music, Cotumes........

And some of the others: Victor/Victoria, Birdcage, My Best Friends Wedding, An American President, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Gods and Monstors, Pirates of the Carribbean AND any kind of a Musical that I have not yet mentioned......Anyone every heard of "THE RINK"????

Human Traffic
Jackie Brown
Dumb & Dumber
American Pie (all of them)
Pulp Fiction
Monty Python's
Cool Runnings
Resivour Dogs
HEAT
Lock Stock & Snatch

Theres loads..

My favorite movie of all time is City of God (Cicade De Deus). It is gritty and real on every human level possible. Every time I watch the movie the story feels like it's being told for the first time. It is very well written and executed by regular everyday people from the favelas in Rio. The movie spawned a show on Brazilian TV by the director, Fernando Mersailes, called City of Men that is just now playing on the Sundance channel in America. The shows characters are not based on the characters of the movie City of God, but the feel of the show is the same. Two or three of the street kids-turned-actors from the movie are in the show as well. The show has had a pretty long running and the director is making a movie based on the show. If you haven't seen it I suggest you check it out. I could make a huge list of films I love but this film will always be at the top.

-Top Gun...before Tom became a whacko
-Latter Days...just a great story with nice eye candy
-Start Trek 4....on earth bringing whales back to the future.
-Back to the Future...All of them. Part 2 the best

Man, I watch a ton of movies over and over. If it's on and I like it
I have no problem watching stuff again. I don't really put in a DVD
to watch a particular movie all the time...but some that I have seen
many times are:

The Shawshank Redemption
Tombstone
Caddyshack
Austin Powers (any of them)
Ace Ventura (either of them)
Jaws (the first one only!!!!)
Field of Dreams
Old School

I'm sure there are many more that I can't think of right now.

In no particular order:

The Birds
A Matter of Life and Death
The Red Shoes
Playing By Heart
Chicken Run
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The Original Star Wars Trilogy
Death Becomes Her
The First Wives Club
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
Sunset Boulevard
Kind Hearts and Coronets

And then "Laughter in Paradise" is one I've only seen once, and would love to see again. I'm sure I'll be back when I think of more!

I agree with you--- it has gotten a bad rap I don't think it deserves. I loved the music--- and laughed out loud! If you're a EWan McGregor fan--- rent Long Way Round. It's a documentary about a motorcycle trip he and Charlie Boorman make around the world! Ewan is a very cool guy off the screen!

Brokeback Mountain

Transamerica

Out Of Africa

War Of The Roses

Indiana Jones (all of them)

Alexander

I had forgotten War of the Roses--- one of the funniest movies around. And Transamerica blew me away. If it had been up to me, Felicity Huffman would have gotten the best actress Oscar (and maybe the best actor Oscar, too!;) )!!

Well, I like "Back to the Beach." I am watching it now. Joe Holland is so hot in this movie. Unfortunately, he died at the age of 33 of pulmonary embolism. He was so young and very hot. I also like watching John Calvin cavorting in his teeny bikini. This guy is so gay.

Beaches, ET, Star Wars IV, Beautiful Thing, Moulin Rouge, Ghost, Swordsman II, Hero, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,

I have to stop reading this thread... my Netflix queue is getting way too long! But I'm going to enjoy revisiting some of the movies you have suggested!
