Less than 2 months ago, I bought and paid for my new car on a Wednesday. The car was delivered to me on Thursday. Less than 22 hours later, I got a notice of a recall. I called my saleswoman and said "Like you didn't know this when I bought the car". She denied it, but I called the maker and they said the dealers knew of recalls. I guess it's not just used car salesmen that you can't trust.
 
How frustrating, sixthson. :( Of course they knew about that!! The letters generally say to go to the dealers; I highly doubt the dealer would be blindsided by any sort of recall. If they were, there's a huge breakdown in communication. That just doesn't even make sense that they wouldn't have known that. Freakin' salespeople.
 
Actually, I got an email from the dealership that came across as a "by the way, your car has a recall", as if I had had the car for a year or something. I didn't know whether to be annoyed or to laugh. I texted my husband with the news. His response? "I told you not to buy that car" to which I said "SHUT UP! You told me to buy it". And he had, so I blame him.
 
Regardless of whether it's his fault, your fault, my fault, or someone else's fault the recall exists! :lol: But that sounds like a funny conversation. :lol:

Last time my Pontiac had a recall I got something via US Mail from GM. Never got an email or anything. That was for the ignition switch.

Now give your husband hell for telling you to buy the car.... :-)

A point of order if I may - the purported charge would nave been IMPERSONATING a hooker.

GM had big problems with recalls, I believe. There were some deaths involved and if I am not mistaken, they got in trouble because of preproduction knowledge of the issues with things like the ignition.

I wasn't really bothered much with my recall it was just that you don't expect a recall 22 hours after buying. They picked up my car, left me a loaner then returned my car after repair. In the scheme of things, it was not a major life crisis. Try standing in a Romanian courtroom dealing with lawyers calling you filthy names for wanting to adopt. It puts things in perspective.

I've got about 72 friends on my list. I've met all of them in person with the exception of one, or perhaps two. No need for such a large number of friends in my humble opinion.

It was you and me, both, hence the "someone" as opposed to a specific name. You've been moving up on JUB for a good while now.

I remember you sharing some of your life story awhile back. I used to work with Romanians who were selling the company I worked for at the time products - they had to go home with $1MM order - the price was tertiary. When Ceaucescu was finding life more precarious, and they lost Most Favored Nation Status with the US, we KNOW life was not easy for them.

I was just being sarcastic about the cliquisness of this thread. There are a few of you who interact almost exclusively and the rest of us are just "someones".
