50. Nov 10 Kiss Kiss - Chris Brown
51. Nov 17 Kiss Kiss - Chris Brown
52. Nov 24 Kiss Kiss - Chris Brown
3 weeks No. 1 / 9 weeks Hot 100

Based solely on weeks at No. 1, these are the top 10 pop singles of the year:

1. Irreplaceable - Beyonce
10 weeks
2. Umbrella - Rihanna Featuring Jay-Z
7 weeks
3. Crank That (Soulja Boy) - Soulja Boy
7 weeks
4. Beautiful Girls - Sean Kingston
4 weeks
5. Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5
3 weeks
6. Kiss Kiss - Chris Brown
3 weeks
7. Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's
2 weeks
8. Glamorous - Fergie Featuring Ludacris
2 weeks
9. Give It To Me - Timbaland Featuring Nelly Furtado
& Justin Timberlake
2 weeks
10. This Is Why I'm Hot - Mims
2 weeks

BUT this is not how Billboard tabulates the rank (as presented in their upcoming Dec. 22 double issue). For example, T-Pain Featuring Yung Joc's "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin') only spent one week at No. 1 but it will trump Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls," even though it held the No. 1 slot for four weeks. The reason for that is chart longevity: "Drank" accumulated 35 weeks in the Hot 100 vs. "Girls" relatively short 22 week run.

That opens up an entire new box of hit singles: The non- number one singles that are still going to rank high because of their extremely long chart stays. And here they are. The five titles with most weeks in the Hot 100 during the tracking period:

1. Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood
No. 8 peak / 52 weeks in Hot 100
2. The Sweet Escape - Gwen Stefani Featuring Akon
No. 2 peak / 40 weeks in Hot 100
3. Home - Daughtry
No. 5 peak / 37 weeks in Hot 100
4. Rockstar - Nickelback
No. 6 peak / 33 weeks in Hot 100
5. U + Ur Hand - Pink
No. 9 peak / 33 weeks in Hot 100

"The Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani Featuring Akon is the one to keep your eyes on. This wouldn't be the first time this decade that Billboard has awarded the No. 1 single to a song that only reached No. 2 on the weekly charts (happened in 2000 with Faith Hill's "Breathe" and again in '01 with Lifehouse's "Hanging By A Moment"). Beyonce and Rihanna (Featuring Jay-Z's) greatest threat at this moment is "Escape" because it was in the Hot 100 for 40 weeks vs. their 26- week- and 31-week chart runs, respectively.

Thanks, man.

Actually, I thought Glamorous spent, like forever, in the Top 10. But since that it spent 29 weeks only in the Hot 100, hmmm.. guess I won't be seeing it BIG for the year end chart.

But songs add a lot more points for their weeks in the Top 10 so if a song skyrockets in with a huge digital download week they can still finish with a strong total.

Lol. Yeah, being a rocker/metal head myself, that kind of music just irritates me. Whats even worse is when my sisters wake me up to that crap, then I hear it at the bars to. :(

"Glamorous" will have a flashy showing in the year-end top 10, Starlight. It won't be the No. 1 or No. 2 single of the year but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say No. 5.

28 weeks in the Hot 100, 12 weeks in the top 10 and two weeks at No. 1 is nothing to frown at. There's even the possibility Fergie could be joined by her other No. 1 hit, "Big Girls Don't Cry."

And don't rule out her No. 2 hit, "Fergalicious." That song hung around the top 10 almost as long as "Glamorous": 11 weeks!

But it's total chart run adds up to just 19 weeks thanks to it being one of those late 2006 entries that straddled both survey years.

To put things in perspective, "Umbrella" and "Irreplaceable" spent 14 weeks in the top 10 a piece.

Here's the top ten trajectory for "Glamorous": 8-1-1-2-4-4-4-4-7-7-8-10

I've heard 11 out of the 18 #1s, would be so embarassed if I heard all of them.

1. Irreplaceable - Beyonce
10 weeks
to the left to the left....it still stays in my head, can't get rid of it, oh gosh:cry:

2. Umbrella - Rihanna Featuring Jay-Z
7 weeks
i would be so sweeeeet to share a umbrella with someone u like

8. Glamorous - Fergie Featuring Ludacris
2 weeks
love this song, i so wanna be glamarous

10. This Is Why I'm Hot - Mims
2 weeks
for god's sake you are not hot

Don't Matter - Akon
love this song, i thought this song is written for gay couples "nobody wanna see us together but it don't matter oh, coz i got u" so sweet

Okay, Starlight, I doubt you'll like this news but it appears Fergie has trumped herself as far as "Glamorous" goes.

"Big Girls Don't Cry" which spent one week at No. 1 will rank higher than "Glamorous" which spent two weeks at No. 1.

Why? "Girls" spent 30 weeks in the Hot 100 vs. the 29 weeks spent by "Glamorous." That one extra week of charting overrides the extra week at No. 1 spent by "Glamorous." Oh that nutty Billboard. #-o

I hope Alicia Keys "No One" takes the top spot this week! i kinda think it will, anything better than "Kiss kiss" although that song is kinda growing on me

LOL you're so off-topic LatinoStar

But I agree with you. If Billboard announces tonight "No One" is No. 1, it'll not only be the first No. 1 of 2008 (please don't ask at this point!!!)

But also Keys' first No. 1 hit since the six-weeks-at-No. 1 "Fallin" from 2001. That's a long time to go between No. 1's for, if you ask me, the Best New Artist of this entire decade.

Haha, Sorry, but yeah i definatley agree she is the best new artist of this decade! "No One" is No. 2 in the itunes store, and "Kiss kiss" is No. 4, so this is why i think it has the Strong Chance of going to No. 1

Since Fiorio is predicting Billboard's top hits of 2007 I think I'll go out on a limb and fearlessly predict what I think will be the Top 10 Hot 100 Pop Songs of the year ...
