Don't forget that, for many, that is all they have.
Good point. That is why we can't say what is too much for another.

Is there any truth to it? Is it backed up by science?
Has anyone tried or even contemplated it? Apparently, according to them, too much masturbation can deplete your energy level, can lower testosterone and make you less attractive. According to the nofap movement, stopping masturbation altogether will make you more masculine, give you higher energy, relieve depression etc.
If we weren't supposed to do it, we wouldn't be able to reach it!
Hi guys, tried it but my experience is that health improvement isn't true.
As I understand it, the no fap movement is about more than just masturbation. It's about men who feel they are addicted to porn and masturbation. Like any other addiction, pmo (porn, masturbation and orgasm) has overtaken their lives. They are isolating from others, avoiding friends and family and unable to function relationally. They are indulging 3 to 5 times a day, many of them. Not a few complain of erectile dysfunction brought on by excessive use of porn and masturbation. I've had to sit through a couple of lectures on the subject in continuing education for my license. While I have a problem with calling everything an addiction, I think if something is taking over your life, you need help.
If people feel they have a problem with porn and masturbation and need help, more power to them. Whether this movement is the help they need, remains to be seen.
I'm more concerned with why someone thinks 3-5 times a day is to be considered a negative thing (at least barring time constraints and similar libido to partners). It's what you do with something that's important, not that a hm, physicality/bodily response is problematic in and of itself. I can see restricting porn/masturbation if someone feels they've an issue with it, interfering in life ect ect - but in the examples above the posters I'd read seemed awfully keen on interweaving fantasy restriction with their no-touchy policy in an unhealthy (and unobtainable) manner.
... I don't hear people who go to AA meetings as "the anti-alcohol movement".
