** The Offical 2008 MLB Thead!!! **

Here I am babe :wave::wave:
I have been feeling bad about your cards, i know how much hope you have for them. But remember, they have played well this year and LaRussa has done a great job. They remain on the edge of contention in the NL-Central, trailing the first-place Chicago Cubs by 7 1/2 games and the second-place Milwaukee Brewers by two games in the divison and the wild card race. Plus, St. Louis had won four straight and six of eight overall coming into the game. :D
Also remember, St. Louis leads the season series 6-3 Cubs fans have to worry more about the cards than they do the flawed Brewers.
LaRussa has done a hell-of-a job with a team that some thought ws destined for basement.
The fact of the matter is, the Cardinals are a better team from top-to-bottom and will finish ahead of the sad Brewers when it's all over.

I never left babe, check out the latest post in my Mets thread and join in. ;)
I love readin your stuff :=D:..|
Thanks sonny!oops!but you REALLY know your stuff about the intracacies of the game and I enjoy those perspectives very much.I agree with you and told Abs the same thing.Milwaukee doesn't have enough to prevent the Cards if they are healthy to take the NL wild card.

With Bosotn 4 games back, some may get the wish they prayed for last year.
I really hoped for a showdown for the division title between te Yankees and Red Sox but that doesn't look like it's happening this year. The Red Sox still probably will win the AL East, but I think the Angels may be too much for any other AL team to overcome.

Also remember, the Cubs are historically baaaad in September and the Brewers are worse.
Do I see a little happy smile on Abs face? come on babe, feel better, it ain't over till it's over and it ain't over. ;)

^ Sigh. I know. Completely Useless By September.

But they just won't freaking LOSE!!!

Oh, and, did you by chance watch any of the series when we were in Chicago last???

I fucking hope someone throws shit at Jim Edmonds when he returns. If the "St. Louis Faithful" give him a standing ovation, I will puke. Fuck him. Especially when he says he "doesn't give a shit about St. Louis nor it's media anymore."

Throw rocks at his head.

On a brighter note, I'm going to the games today and tomorrow! (!)

Wish us luck!

Jim Edmonds said that?Fucking ingrate!:grrr:Rocks are too good for him,I say!!!

Good luck to the Cards, especially with Abs getting to watch his beloved Redbirds take on the impudent wretches of Wrigley!(*8*)..|

Wow Cory, Why don't you and Sausy tell us how you really feel about Edmonds.
I know it did not go so well last night babe, but tonight you have Wellemeyer..|, he should be able to make them Pirates walk the plank. Good luck

The Yankees have been held to 2 runs or fewer 40 times this season. That is 32% of the games they have played so far. For the remaining 37 games left in the schedule the Yankees play 21 games on the road where they have a losing record. Last year they were the highest scoring team in MLB.

If the teams in the AL East keep beating each other it will be fun to watch teams like Minnesota and the White Sox play tough against Detroit, Cleveland and Kansas City and pad their record. No team is going to roll over and give the Red Sox first place in the AL East or the wild card. The wild card may not even come out of the AL East!

Imagine this if you will; Rays, White Sox, Twins and Angels in the playoffs.

^I think the Red Sox and the Angels would be the most interesting match up.Don't like either club (well,LOATHE the Red Sox) but they seem to be the best in talent in the division overall.Would make a very compelling series.

Mets, Cubs, Dodgers
Rays, White Sox, Angels

World Series: battle of the East, Mets and Rays.

^ ESPN would nut in their pants for that match up.

Congrats Albert Pujols on NL Player of the Week! You deserve it after the tear you went on this weekend! :=D:

(secretly still hoping for a WC spot. Damn Cubs! :grrr: )

I hope you mean soil their pants:p.....Mets part good,Tampa part no ratings!

Good win against the Brewers tonight........like the Mets did against Philly tonight, great comeback.but Ryan Ludwick....he never was this good before! What an unexpected bonus for the cards with his strong play, and he's kept at it all year!Of course Pujols is incomparable...all that offensive arsenal and such a low strikeout rate!

Sorry to see the Cards seeming to be going down in the NL Central....who knew the Cubs and Brewers would be so tough ALL year?!I've been waiting for at least one of them to fold but they are getting tougher as the season nears the home stretch.

Boston is as injury plagued as the Yankees and yet they seem to have a greater mental toughness and determination compared to the Yankees.I may loathe the Red Sox,but I do admire them!

^ I don't know to what you are referring to.

Does it make it better that a hot, hot, HOT CUBS fan talked to me all night long???

:rotflmao:

I know. I shouldn't have...

It happens - good luck to sonny and Sausy!

 you sexy bitches!

Well, I'd never be a slut with a Cubs fan. Except for him. He was so fucking sexy! :luv:

Good luck to the Mets as well - looks like I'll most likely be watching them in October instead of the Cards!

Maybe I'll make a trip to NYC for it if they get into the WS! (!)

I would have loved to multiquote you guys, but too many smilies!

Mets swept the Brewers,Mets swept the Brewers!:gogirl:You're Cards have an opening Abs,maybe the Cards can penetrate through to the Wild Card yet!

You talking it up with a hottie Cubs fan?You got his number?:gogirl:Good for you!At least that Cubs fan has good taste in men seeing you too clicked...two hot gay guys loving baseball together and gettin' acquainted...sweet!!!(!)You a slut?Nah....just a connieseur of hot guys!;)

Thanks Abs for the well wishes for me and sonny regarding the Mets....these Mets give us agita but they have that fighting spirit back and we can't help but love them!:luv:

Abs thinking about coming to New York if the Mets win....yay!Now we gotta have a Cards revival too!Wouldn't that be great?!!!:gogirl:

Don't cry,I warned you all in at he beginning and October is nigh!;)
And Brad,as much as I hate the Sox,they are the real professionals this year compare to the Yanks.Injuries, subpar performances, trading off their best player but they fight on and have the heart the Yanks wish they had. There,I said it!;)

Anyone see those scenes from the Florida Marlins/Atlanta game yesterday?Hot and humid as hell in Florida and the attendance was what,500?Damn you could move to a different section for every half inning just for fun! There was this guy trying to go after a foul ball who just looked like he was dragging.

Don't cry,I warned you all in at he beginning and October is nigh!;)

Hey Brad, was that you I saw handing out these head covers to the Yankee fans the other night?
