It was a deluge last night:(....just hope it doesn't screw the Yanks rhythm.No way do I want to go to a game 7(would they play tomorrow night against Monday Night Football should it be necessary?)and be forced to use CC Sabathia,rendering him unusable the first two WS games should the Yanks get there.



BTW,sonny...Scrub lives for our putdowns of all things Phillies!:p

You are a good sport to let us play, but then again you know how to dish it out as well and thats fun.

Man, those Angel errors sure did them in, nine in just the ALCS alone.
The two yesterday were unforgivable, Kazmit overthrowing that ball was outrageous.
Loved the job Pettit did, he was sooo focused, perfect man for the job yesterday.
There is so much excitement in NY over the upcoming series, more than have seen in a while. The city is on fire in anticipation. Everywhere you go thats all people wanna talk about. Lotta parties planned starting Wednesday, n for someone like me who eats sleeps baseball I am pretty happy to see the Yankees play.

The Yankees for sure have the edge with pitching which is what it's all about.
Those Phiilie batters (and I will admit they have some sluggers) I am thinkin will be shut down.

Aww,sonny is just a sweetheart!(*8*)I knew though that Scrub not only could take the Phillies ribbing,but relished it!;)And damn she can give back as good as she gets....maybe even better!:p


It's really fun being a baseball fan in the New York area....I know how much sonny lives,eats,breathes baseball,he represents the real baseball fan...even without our beloved Mets in it,the Yankees have a great team,even more importantly a professional group of guys with character and watching a great team playing together brings out the joy,pure love of the game and passion of every true baseball fan.Which is(I'm in a very charitable mood now,it won't last!:p)the same for the Phillies...they are a great team,especially offensively with a true stopper in Cliff Lee.Professional,hustling,scrapping,full of heart the Phils are what the Mets should be but haven't found the fortitude to achieve, as of yet.They will be a VERY tough opponent for the Yankees,I don't underestimate them ONE bit.Even a 2-0 hole going back to Philly on Saturday is nothing for the Yankees to get arrogant about,and I would not expect them to.It will be a tough,gritty World Series....could be a classic.Love the East Coast Swing vibe of this year's World Series and hoping for a great one!(!)
 
Yesterday I posted this comment in the Mets thread but I meant to post it here.
Forgive me if you read this already but it's something I feel strongly about


I can not believe how many Mets fans I have spoken to who hate the Yankees so bad that they are rooting for the Phillies to take the championship. WHAT!! I find that completely insane, how could you as a Mets fan want the philles to win just cause they are playing the Yankees.
I get the NY rivalry and that’s fine, but the Yankees are never a threat to us cause if you think about it the Yankees only matter to the Mets six days a year on the field unless both teams make it to the World Series.
The Phillies, on the other hand, matter 162 days a year and their success has a lot more bearing on the Mets' place in the actual baseball world. You could argue that a true Mets fan would put those concerns well above any razzing they may get.
It’s all fun and games to go up to a Yankees fan and tell em your team sucks and all that crap but to root for them to loose here is just plain nutz.
If you are one of those poor unfortunates please answer this question, what have the Yankees ever done other than to be the other NY baseball team in that other division to warrant your hatred. Then think about what the Phillies have and done and said and tell me that’s not worse.
If you are a Mets fan you must want the Yankees to win here, even if you are loyal to your division ya gotta make the exception with the Phillies. These are the same Phillies who said they were the team to beat before the 2007 season and then came back from a seven-game deficit with 17 games to play to make it true. The same Phillies who blew past us again at the end of 2008 and then gloated about it and called the Mets choke artists. The same Phillies whose fans have had a fine time using the Mets as the punch line of every joke they've told for the last three seasons. So tell me, you want more of that?
