It's one of the best times of the year. It's the start of the 2011 baseball season!!! Let's play ball!!!!!

*I'm not sure if someone else was supposed to start this or not. If they were I'm sorry.

No problem Ninja,Abs doesn't have the time right now and I think sonny plain forgot!:lol:I know you must have been happy about the Yank's opening day 6-3 win...and the big blasts by Mark Teixeira and Curtis Granderson.I'm a Met fan first and foremost but I like seeing the Yanks do well!..|

The Mets tonight,on the other hand don't look so good.....Johnson is dominating and Pelfrey has been unimpressive to say the least!:(

yeah it's all good Ninja, Abs did ask me to do it this year and I had planned on starting it the same day as my annual Mets thread which was yesterday,
It doesnt matter who starts the thread I'm just happy we have guys like you all who wanna talk baseball. ;)

So let's have some fun

Oh, Lets Go Mets......now ya know I had to throw that in

Teix getting three RBIs on opening day and Grandy making two great plays and a go-ahead HR? I'll take it.
A thing of beauty ... Granderson's catch in the top of the ninth.

^ Oh Eradik, popping your JUB cherry with a post like that? We might have words later :p

And yes, I've been soooo busy as of late that I'm glad someone started a thread about the 2011 season! :)

The Birdnals already hit several early hurdles which makes me very sad - Wainwright (out for the season with Tommy John surgery during spring training) Holliday (appendectomy on Friday, who knows when he'll return) and the whole Pujols fiasco and resigning him come the end of this season.

*sigh*

I'll just hope for the best! At least Jamie Garcia got us our first win of the season today after Franklin fucked us over in the bottom of the 9th on opening day #-o

But a CG shutout, and I'll give him props for that! :=D:

OMG BASEBALL SEASON HAS STARTED *|*

The Yankees are looking pretty good!! Tex with a home run in each game is a great thing and i am loving Russel Martin into the mix. If Burnett can be good and the offence stays great like they did, we undergdogs will do great! Cant say much for the Rays and Soxs, if these two teams showed us what the whole season will be like, what a waste of money. The soxs pitching was just terrible!!!

Eigh, ya, I've been lurking for a little while. I saw this thread and just had to share. :)

I'd start an official Cubs 2011 thread, but alas, I'm a newbie and figured I'd wait to see if anyone else shares in my appreciation of the Cubbies :)

OFFICIAL CUBS THREAD!!!
Are you not concerned about the rath of Abs?? ;)

Speaking of out Abs, dude..where is you Cubs Suck avatar
We need that it is tradition after all.:D

^ I don't. :-p

I'm Yankees first, with a love for the Sox as well. (My first baseball game attended was at the south side of Chicago)

I am a Yankee first as well with love for the Mets. 80% of my freinds are Yankee fans with 19% being Red Soxs and 1% Mets ( i only know two people that are Met fans) lol. I have dish network and they dont offer YES (and right now SNY) so i started to watch SNY and got caught up with the Mets. When its a subway series game, i always route for the Blue and White!

LEster always has a slow start in April. He will be a CY contender before the end of the year and Adrian has looked impressive so far. Don't forget, they were playing against the AL champs.
In the same breath, Lackey looks just as awful as he did last year and I don't see that changing any time soon. And have yet to see how Beckett looks. For all the hype and magic about the Red Sox,there are serious questions about the back end of their rotation, just like with the Yankees.

P.S. As for the Phillies, their five starters appeared on the cover of SI. That will seal their fate.

Joe Blanton... and if you look at the photo of him at the press conference, you can tell he KNOWS he's the odd man out.

Yankes were down 5-0 and came back to win it!

Smiley microphone guy is hot as hell... :D

And sorry sonny about the last 5!

Welcome to Cardinal Nation???

;)

I have always been a LA Dodgers fan through the good times and bad times. I am hoping that the Dodgers can have a better year than last year. I wish the distraction of the owner's nasty divorce would be resolved soon.

Go Dodger Blue

Dude, the Cards! WTF!!

NA, are you trying to make me cry using only your words?

Hopefully, after our [STRIKE]t[/STRIKE]horrid start, we can find our rhythm and start winning games...even after last night's win...

This is the first season in my entire lifetime that I've been blah about. And that is the complete opposite of how I ever am about baseball!

The way it looks, it won't until MLB steps in and that might not be until they are out of contention.

Such a shame what McCourt has done to that franchise.

^ Well, if the hail would stay the fuck away, maybe the series could possibly happen...](*,)

I'm not even in STL right now (MSP for work) and have been getting calls from people at home how bad it is there right now :( game postponed...

As another random note, I come back to MSP next week for work and am going to Target Field on Wednesday for a Twins game. I'm very excited to see their new stadium! I've heard it's great! :luv:

The more important question -

what do I wear.

My Skippy Schu shirt I always wear, or whore myself out to an American League team? Perfect time for me to buy a Mauer jersey and whore myself out to his [STRIKE]ass[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]face[/STRIKE] team :D

(he's so fucking hot btw...)

NA, it's all good hon (*8*)

We antagonize and rib each other all the time in this thread.

For example - I hate pond scum.

And the Nationals beat us today for the first game of a double header after Westbrook imploded. But we come back to win the second game tonight.

I'll take a split any day of the week! :)
