Jorge Posada, intends to announce his retirement.
Although I am a true blue Mets fan I have always respected the Yankees and so many of the superstars in that club over the years. Posada won five World Series rings with the Yankees and should for sure be a candidate for Hall of Fame some day.
So that brings the "Core Four" down to a two with only Jeter and Rivera left

Any thoughts Yankees fans?

In a way, I'm glad he's retiring, as selfish as it sounds. I don't think I could have stood to see Jorge, a key part of so many Yankee Championships, play in another uniform.
As for the HOF,I can see him getting in on a second or third ballot. HIs offense though was often negated by his defense I'm afraid.
Finally..I'll say this..I have a feeling Mo is going to retire after this season...I am NOT ready for that.

All good things have to come to a end. Mo will be soon and Jeter will follow, sad but true.

I would agree that Jetter's best days are behind him can't play SS much longer
Can you see Reyes in that position soon? or is that a dirty word to Yankee fans ;)
I also get that seeing any Yankee in another uniform would be wierd, I donno yet how I am going to feel about seeing Reyes in that fish suit

I think Reyes health history is going to scare off the Yanks.
As for Jeter, his best days are no doubt behind him but I'll take a second half like the one he showed anytime.
As for the Marlins...bleh. It's not just the 03 World Series..it's the fact that overall, that franchise has won two World Series and the fanbase is still nonexistant.

I'm not happy we're losing Montero either but I'm also realistic.. the World Series last year featured two teams where more often than not, their starters didn' t make it to the 6th inning in the playoffs. Most teams won't make it doing that.
Hitters are easy to replace...good pitching however, is not as easy to get,and sometimes, you have to give up something good to get it. I will miss Jesus but there was no place for him on the Yanks. Now hopefulyl we have that number 2 behind CC.

Prince Fielder signed for 9 years,$214 million...wow!

ya razor the mariners are in need to some offense but not desperate. they had their eye on montero for a long time and tried to get him in 2010 in a trade that would send cliff lee to the yankees but the deal fell through. mariners have a fantastic farm system (ranked 4th) and last year and this year are developing stages and were gonna have a damn good team soon. we';ve had great pitching but no bats but ackley, ichiro, montero. and my new fav mike carp will be something to see.

The Mariners have a lot of competition bw the Angels and the Rangers...good luck!

oh no way in hell were competing with the angels and rangers this year but pujols is on the decline. hes gonna be broken down before hes 5 years in that contract. he swings out of the strike zone like crazy now and most of his stats are in decline in the past 3 seasons. rangers still look like the best team and angels line up are all righties lol

i never said they were gonna be contenders this year. and they gave up pineda cuz they really need catching and miguel olivo is the biggest piece of shit on this planet. im not worried about our rotation cuz runs are what we need. and did i say something to hurt you cuz you seem so angry

The Rangers had offense on their side..and still do. But they still don't have the pitching. Good pitching will beat good offense everytime, and the fact the Rangers have been sent home without the trophy proves that.
