3 Days to go until Semi-Final 1!

Here's Austria's entry, US-born Natalia Kelly with Shine. Love the song! Shine will open Semi-Final 1 and the ESC on Tuesday! So if you are able to vote in the first Semi-Final I hope Natalia will be your choice!

Live performance on Dancing Stars (Friday May 3rd 2013, LIVE ORFeins HD)

Second rehearsel in Malmö

First rehearsel

National Final performance

And remember: WE ARE ONE

I'm Norwegian but I hate our entry this year. The song is boring and not catchy at all. I'm definitely NOT a fan.

Two entries partly sounded just like Hold It Against Me.

I like Denmark and Russia the most.

The guy from Lithuania was so cute. The topless men from Ireland were so hot but the guy sings worse than the average karaoke singer!

^What? I can't believe that lol. It is ranked 2nd only to Denmark at the moment. Only San Marino i'd say has a realistic chance of getting a higher place than Norway, maybe Netherlands but i hope not, don't like that song.

I know, but it's still a shitty song imo. It's too mechanic, dark, cold, depressing. And it's not catchy at all. I'm sorry, I just don't like it. It's for many of these reasons I don't like The Netherlands either. The song was way too dark and depressing for my taste. I honestly don't understand what people see in that song. FFS.. Austria didn't make it with the wonderful song Shine, while The Netherlands did! Something is definitely wrong with this picture.

I'm really surprised we made it to the final.

The song isn't very good but his performance was so I guess that helped.

I'm watching the first semi-final on TV right now, I'm a little bit drunk and enjoying the hell out of it.

I'm looking forward to our annual grand final Eurovision party.

My FIRST visit or even look at your thread Mitchy (you may spank me) :spank:

I have a different approach to it all - I always tend to make my Eurovision experience a special one for just the Saturday night itself - so I'll be geared up and ready to go at 8:00pm I can guarantee that, BUT I'll not have heard any entries or bothered about the semi-finals - I've never even heard the U.K. entry yet, lol.

Then after the one-off hearing of all the songs on the night I'll make an immediate on-the-spot decision and phone my vote in - and I'll also try to post on JUB and make a thread in HT before the scoring (I did that last year) - and post vids of my fave songs. :D

It'll all be a mad rush tomorrow night but I'm really looking forward to it! ..|

Semifinal 2 was the weakest semi final I've seen in years. Damn, I had a hard time finding ONE song to root for, and 16 acts competed in the semi final.. says it all really. And for heavens sake.. ROMANIA made it! Have you heard the song/scream/whatever the fuck that was? Sooooooooo bad. Yikes :( Semifinal 1 was definitely a lot stronger.

I am like opposite of most people.. I mostly hate some of the favorites to win (Finland, Iceland, Norway, The Netherlands). I do love Georgia, Denmark and Ukraine though. But I think this year overall is very weak.

I like happy songs, catchy songs.. I don't like dark and depressing songs, which is why I don't like Norway or The Netherlands this year. Iceland is slightly dark too, and boring as fuck. I'm sorry, but that song is a total snoozefest. I'm surprised it made it to the final.. then again the semi final was extremely weak and at least he sang well and it was somewhat authentic. Finland was a mess though.. cheap tacky and the lesbian kiss was obviously just a cheap ploy to get horny men to vote. But it worked, horny men voted for them. So I guess they deserve some credit for that, lol.

My points today:

12 points Denmark
10 points Georgia
8 points Aserbadsjan
7 points Ukraine
6 points France
5 points Italy
4 points Ireland
3 points Sweden
2 points Germany
1 point Belgium

^ I think its great that Australia has a large cult following of Eurovision...

I'm sorry to say that most of these people following are hipsters who like to make rude remarks about the bizarro costumes.

I DO fancy that blond Icelandic guy!!

OK, all songs done! Here's my thoughts....

Mostly forgettable especially the first seven or so....

Romania - WTF?? :rotflmao: Does that get the gay vote or what?

U.K. - Ah good old Bonnie bless her heart. (*8*)

Sweden - didn't that guy look like AshyPhoenix?

Also - never expected to see Cascada on the show! Alas, that song I heard can't beat their thumpingly excellent 2009 hit 'Evacuate The Dancefloor' which was a No.1 over here back then.

Anyway....

Malta and Italy were good solo efforts, maybe my joint third place....

Denmark was a good song, gets my second place....

And my 12 points....

goes to....

*drum roll*

Greece!

OMG I love these guys!

They're so fun and it's a catchy song! :D

Voting coming soon! :corn:

"Birds" is absolutely fantastic. It's almost another "Windmills Of Your Mind"...and the best vocal performance.
I can't vote for Anouk, so my next favourite is Belgium.
Much appreciation for the falsetto guy...and he's so sexy. Actually I think the whole show is a bit gay'd up (...)

But most songs this year are average or bad and all that light and firework doesn't make it any better.

Personally thought one of the best songs was Finland's entry, "Marry Me". It was fun and slightly quirky (and not overly weird) but I also loved when the host sang that song about Sweden, my god how I enjoyed that.

So Denmark it is. OK, one of the better songs but not exactly an instant "classic".
Interesting that so many non-UK countries sing English lyrics eventhough French is the most beautiful language.

Finland was tacky, cheap and the lesbian kiss was obviously only used so horny men all over Europe would pick up the phone and vote for them. Disgusting that they had to do that. They should have let the song speak for itself, making out with anyone wasn't necessary.
