Adele finds her voice again as she lines up judging role on The Voice

Adele is set to return to the stage after recovering from a bout of laryngitis as she is rumoured to up for a role as a judge on new talent show The Voice.

The star has been banned from performing for the past month under doctor's orders but has now been given a clean bill of health.
This means Adele will fit enough to perform at London's iTunes Festival tomorrow (July 7).
She told Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles: 'It's basically a hole in your vocal cord but I sang through it so that's why it popped. I'm better now, it's fine, I got the all-clear.'
Adele was forced to cancel her North American tour in early June due to laryngitis and also had to turn down a duet with Beyoncé at Glastonbury.
The news comes as reports emerge that she's a hot contender to join the judging panel of BBC1's X Factor rival, The Voice.
Cee Lo, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton have already been confirmed as judges.
Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue have also been touted as guest judges.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 'Her style and look is also very different to that of Cheryl Cole, so if we could get them both on board it would be fantastic.'
Adele has kept tight-lipped about the show but did reveal to Moyles she had something 'big' planned.
'There's a possibility I'm doing something quite big next year – I've got a meeting about it on Friday.'
Meanwhile, Someone like You has become the first single of the decade to sell over one million copies.
Adele's hit song becomes one of only sixteen singles since 2000 to hit one million sales.
Poker Face by Lady Gaga and I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas were the last two singles.

Adele replaces Eminem with biggest selling digital album

She outsells Eminem just a week after he sold one million Recovery downloads…

Adele has surpassed Eminem just one week after he became the first artist to sell one million downloads of an album in the US.

Eminem broke the record with Recovery in early July, just pipping Adele to the title – at the time, her 21 album was just eight thousand downloads behind with sales of 992,000.

But now the Rolling In The Deep songstress has hit the million mark and surpassed the rapper to have the highest ever digital sales for an LP.

It took Recovery just over a year to make the milestone but Adele managed it in five months, meaning that she now also holds the record for the fastest selling digital album.

As previously reported on MTV, Someone Like You is the biggest selling British single of the decade and the first song to sell over one million copies in the UK in the 2010s.

21 is also Britain’s highest selling album of 2011 so far, according to Official Charts Company figures.

Adele’s sales are likely to climb even higher now that she has been given the all-clear to perform again following a health scare. "It's basically a hole in your vocal chord but I sang through it so that's why it popped," she told Radio 1. "I'm better now, it's fine, I got the all-clear.

This blind item now makes sense:
"Which former almost A list singer threatened to walk off the show for which she was recently hired, unless she got a raise and top billing. She did this because of a new hire to the show she cannot stand."

^^^

Sorry, not up on celebrity gossip. Who and what are you talking about???

I just hope that Adele and Xtina are going to be in the same team.

I would die if Xtina and Adele did a duet song just like she did with Adam.:gogirl:

I just wanted to say that "21" is an absolute masterpiece. I'm currently listening to it on repeat. "19" was a nice album for me aswell, but this one just takes it so much further. I just hope she makes it as a person. I want more quality stuff from her to listen to. <3

edit: my fav ones atm are Set fire to the rain and Turning tables. I also adore Someone like you, which I really feel most for, but I had a large dose of it by now so I skip it hehe

Adele: Winehouse didn't realize her genius

'Amy flies in paradise,' says singer widely viewed as Winehouse's successor

Widely hailed as the most successful British solo act since Amy Winehouse, "Rolling in the Deep" singer Adele, 23, took to her blog Monday to express her grief over 27-year-old Winehouse's sudden death.

Not many people have it in them to do something they love, simply because they love it, with no fuss and no compromise," Adele wrote. "But she knew what she was capable of and didn't even need to try. If she wanted to do something she would, and if she didn't, she'd say, 'F**k off.' It came easy to her and that's why we all loved her so much.

"We believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing."

I don't think she ever realized just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming," Adele continued. "Although I'm incredibly sad about Amy passing, I'm also reminded of how immensely proud of her I am as well — and grateful to be inspired by her. Amy flies in paradise."

As teenagers, both Adele and Winehouse attended the prestigious London School for Performing Arts & Technology (though not at the same time). Other famous students include Leona Lewis, Kate Nash, Jessie J and Imogen Heap.

What do you all think of this cover? I think it's pretty good for something recorded on an iPhone and acapella. Not perfect, but there's something there, in my opinion.

I'm afraid that Adele is going to wait a year or two and then release another album since this one is doing soooo well :(

Adele's "21" was back to No. 1 last week on the Billboard 200 albums chart for an 11th non-consecutive week (up two slots with 77,000).

Adele's 11 week run at the top makes it the biggest No. 1 since Taylor Swift's "Fearless" also spent 11 frames in the penthouse in late 2008 and early 2009. Since the chart began using SoundScan data in May of 1991, only eight albums have been No. 1 for 11 weeks or longer. If "21" hits a 12th week at No. 1, it will tie the runs racked up by Santana's "Supernatural" (1999) and Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" (1995-1996).

Last week's No. 1 album, Adele's "21," falls to No. 2 with 83,000 (up 7%).

But there is a good chance she may be No. 1 again next week.(!)
