Beyonce's '4' Debuts Atop U.K. Album Chart, Has Six Singles in Top 75

Sunday's new U.K. sales charts from the Official Charts Company revealed a week of triumph for Beyoncé, in the wake of her headlining appearance at the Glastonbury Festival June 26. "4" (Columbia/Sony Music Entertainment) sold 89,000 units to become her second No. 1 album in the territory, as "Best Thing I Never Had" debuted at No. 3 in the singles list, one of six tracks for her in the top 75. The bestselling single, for the second week, is Jason Derulo's "Don't Wanna Go Home" (Warner Bros./Warner Music).

Beyoncé previously topped the U.K. album chart with her solo debut "Dangerously In Love" in 2003, but fell short with "B'Day" (No. 3 in 2006), and "I Am...Sasha Fierce" (No. 2 in 2009). The latter title moved back into the top 40 yesterday for the first time since May, 2010, climbing 127-38. "Love" improved 121-45 and "B'Day" reappeared outside the widely-published top 75 at No. 94. On the singles top 75, "Run The World (Girls)" climbed 39-23, "Irreplaceable" re-entered at No. 33, "Halo" at No. 60 and "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" at No. 72. "End of Time" debuted at No. 62.

The Queen?
I don't think so :nono:

I still wish radio picked up more on the singles, I adore them.
LOL Ooops! !oops!
HITS now predicts 290,000 - 310,000!

Yes, flop first single, ZERO recent US promo (until this morning), and she's STILL gonna sell more than your favorite her opening week. The Queen!
Official Soundscan Numbers: 310,309!

Beyonce's '4' Will Go For 2 Weeks at No. 1

It looks like Beyonce's "4" album is going to hold at No. 1 for a second week on the Billboard 200, as a serious lack of high-powered new releases won't post a threat to the diva's station atop the list.

The biggest new album that dropped yesterday (July 5) was Lloyd's "King of Hearts" set, which, according to industry prognosticators, may sell around 20,000 copies by week's end on Sunday, July 10. That figure might garner it a debut somewhere in the top 15.

Beyonce's "4" bowed at No. 1 this past week with 310,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan -- marking the leading lady's fourth solo No. 1 album.

Other new albums that are going to take a bow on next week's Billboard 200 include We the Kings' "Sunshine State of Mind," Pop Evil's "War of Angels," Unearth's "Darkness in the Light" and Old 97's "The Grand Theatre Vol. 2."

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

I have to give Bey her props, those numbers are pretty outstanding. :gogirl:

Especially given the situation: a flop first single, the album leaking in it's entirety three weeks before the release date, little promotion until the week the album was released and STILL she managed to score the third-largest sales week of the year.

Now what will be interesting to watch now is how 4 will do on the charts from here on. If it will quickly fall from the top 10 after the first week or become another grower like 21.

I'm sure she wil do well hit singles or not. She has nothing to worry about.

If you want a good laugh head over to one of the Whitney boards. They're all falling over themselves trying to discredit Queen B because even this "flop" had better first week sales than Whitneys comeback.

They are freaking out worse than Nancy Grace over the Casey Anthony verdict!

Wonder how long it will be before SexyKevTaurean79 makes an appearance in this thread? 10...9...8...7...6

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

I love me some Beyonce but girl needs to step it up in the promo department.

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

And things just keep getting better and better for Ms. BEYONCE! Glad "4" was successful despite the little promotion it received and the album being leaked by Michelle Williams.

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

does anyone else notice, esp in the 'best thing i never had' video, her skin keeps getting 'lighter' and blonder compared to previous years?

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

I'm loving the album more and more. 'I Was Here', '1+1', 'Party' and 'I Miss You' are some faves.

But I do agree. I thought I was seeing things...but Beyonce is getting....lighter and lighter with each video. I mean, she was always bright as hell. But this is almost....nevermind.

Beyonce is a light-skinned woman and has always been. At times she tans and wears bronzers, but when she doesn't do those things she's going to be lighter. As a child she had sandy brown hair with blonde highlights (my cousin has the same type of hair and is the same complexion). Beyonce has always had some sort of blonde coloring in her hair since Destiny's Child debuted and lets not forget the contract with L'oreal.

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

Every video Beyonce comes out with, people claim she looks lighter than the last time. She's no more transparent than she was back in 90s (seriously, look at the "Best Thing I Never Had" video and then look at the one for "Bills, Bills, Bills" and rethink that.) That's just some people looking for something to pick at, and zeroing in on the obvious. Please. She's naturally light skinned. Let it go.

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

So happy everything turned out well! 2 weeks @ #1!

I LOVE 'I Miss You', 'I Was Here' and 'I Care'. Hoping for single treatment for IC!

And now for that Jake Nava directed 'End of Time' video! Ahhh yes, I am here for that...

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

Looks like she'll spend a second week at #1 in the US also.

I agree with all of this.I wish she would make a video to every song on the album like she did with B'DAY.

Re: The Official BEYONCE thread

Lay Up Under Me is a freaking awesone song. Been raping the replay button a lot lately.

Also love grooving to End of Time and Schoolin' Life. (!)
