I was wondering what stan for which irrelevant "DIVA" would try and make a big deal about this. Looks like according to most people on here or in the real world it's an EPIC FAIL.

Instead on concentrating on the positives of the inaguration we choose to dwell on the petty.

How about the fact the Obama made history by being the first President to mention gays in his address:

She should get hate, whatever the reason for choosing to NOT sing. It's an honor and a privilege to even be asked to give such a performance at such a time/event.

If you're a professional singer/artist or whatever, and you can't come out and REALLY sing our National Anthem, then you SHOULD get hate. Don't care who you are. Show respect and honor for the country that made you what and who you are, show respect and honor for being asked to provide your voice in such a way before the nation's people.

Shame on Beyonce and all those who were behind her NOT performing.

In my opinion, one does not lip sync the National Anthem.

I know a lot of artists lip synch, some better than others and some get caught in rather embarrassing or humorous ways.

If I wanted to hear a recorded version of someone singing, I would buy a CD.

Do I hate her because of it, no, just disappointed.

I personally think it was stupid of her to pull out the ear piece, but it could just be practice for the Super Bowl.

But seriously, I think it's a big deal. Why choose someone to do it who wouldn't even do it live? They could have just put Britney Spears up there to lip synch it away...

But even Britney's lip-synched pre-recorded voice is horrible.

As for Beyonce...it's all good. It's still her, just at a different time.

I agree that most of the time she sings live it's pretty bad. I think she has breathing issues and also her singing technicue is most of the time not in her natural comfort zone so it easily cracks (her best vocal performances are usually with a deeper voice than most of her songs have). Her pre-recorded vocals are not close to being as good as the studio ones but at the same time I think they are much better than her live vocals.

But her best moments of course are in the studio. She's known for nailing it quickly and not needing a lot of studio time (yes they use vocal effects but producers still want good stuff to work with).

When singer's do live shows it's very hard for them to perform. Dancing is already hard as it is, dancing + singing? I applaud those that can pull them off well. I would say Kylie and Beyonce's one of those that can pull them off well.

Her vocals are the best when it's a one song performance rather than a whole concert. Her voice is usually better on TV shows and award shows than in her own concerts. Like I said before I think she has issues with her breath control when she performs.

Having attended mny outdoor entertainments in my time, and knowing how inadequate the
sound systems can be...I've never begrudged a lip sync by the original star.
The viewing of the honest to god real person could be defiled (think of other fiasco when
they did not lipsync.) by an inadequate performance or technical difficulties.

In simple english, for fucks sake people it wasn't Carnegie Hall there, it was Howdy-Doody's
Second Coronation in 4 years.
