Pink Panther made 82 million dollars which WOULD be an OKAY gross. IF the movie didn't star Beyonce and the budget wasn't...OUCH, 80 million. 2 million dollars of profit for a movie starring your "Star" Beyonce, playing....wait for it...a singer.

Beyonce is a talented singer no one is going to dispute that. However, she has to prove herself as an actress. Now I haven't seen this movie but I will. From what I have heard she actually does a good job acting. This movie NEEDED Beyonce to get this kind of press. DO not think this movie would of gotten this much media attention without Beyonce I doubt it.

Actually I heard about some British article saying Beyonce makes the most money and that is NOT true. Halle Berry is indeed the top black actress in Hollywood. The Hollywood reporter just released their big issue and Halle makes $14 million and up for her movies. Beyonce may be geting big cash but its just for this movie. Its not her standard rate. Halle Berry's standard rate is $14 million. Some stars rates go up and down. But Halle makes more in movies then Beyonce.

Halle Berry has an Emmy and an Oscar attached to her acting credentials, so of course she'd have a higher initial asking rate. I don't know why people think Beyonce's overexposure = a right to command a high salary.

She may have made movies, but all her roles are supporting. She has NOT carried a single movie for ANY studio to take a risk and pay her Halle Berry quality money. She's window dressing. She's the display that gets you into the store to buy OTHER merchandise.

I mean, Paramount is trying their best to push Beyonce, but sometimes it's laughable.

"Academy Award winner, Jamie Foxx... Golden Globe nominee, Eddie Murphy..." and then they trot out "and Grammy Winner, Beyonce Knowles, in... DREAMGIRLS!"

Shit, even Anika Noni Rose who plays Lorelle is a damn Tony Award nominee if not winner.

Three people in this cast have gotten industry credited ACTING recognition, and then here come this bitch with her music accolades. LMAO!!

What's next?

Its true that Beyonce hasn't proven herself as an actress. But maybe this movie will raise her profile in Hollywood? I think that's what her management is hoping for that Beyonce's performance in Dreamgirls will make her be taken more seriously as an actress? One thing I notice about Beyonce too many of her movies involve her singing. She needs to step away from that actually do a film or movies with NO singing and a really dark dramatic role. If She can do that maybe she will have a career. But I think Dreamgirls is a step in the right direction.

I mean what are Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams doing? I hear those two are actually still managed by Beyonce's father. Don't those girls realize Mr. Knowles will not give them the attention their careers deserve? I think they are wasting their time with him he's clealry focused on his daughter alone. And hear's something else I read a British article where Beyonce is getting a serious cut from the Dreamgirls CD soundtrack. Mr. Knowles once again a very smart man. Beyonce will be getting I heard between 16 or 17% royalties from the Dreamgirls Soundtrack. Now that's a very high royalty rate for a soundtrack.
