Re: The Official Beyonce Thread

I love Beyonce! She has so much soul in her voice. I think she really stands out in a time when music divas have sort of hit a low point in history.

What Beyoncé thread would be complete without the video of this performance? This is why she's my #1!

Beyonce Headlining Glastonbury Festival

Beyonce has been confirmed as a headliner at this year's Glastonbury Festival, which will take place from June 22-26 in South West England. The R&B/pop star, who is currently working with producers like Sean Garrett on her fourth album, will perform a 90-minute set on the final day of the fest.

Beyonce -- who is nominated for two Grammy awards this year -- was last seen on stage supporting her 2008 album, "I Am... Sasha Fierce," during her "I Am... World Tour," which ended last February. Rumors spread earlier this week that the singer would be headlining Glastonbury alongside U2 and Coldplay, although no other performers have been confirmed yet.

"This really is the biggest festival in the world and I cannot wait to perform there. Everyone who attends is really appreciative of music and is in such a good mood that entire weekend," says Beyonce in a statement. "I'm pumped just thinking about that huge audience and soaking up their energy."

Beyonce was last seen at Glastonbury Festival in 2008, watching her husband, Jay-Z, perform a headlining set. The festival, which expects an audience of 200,000 this year, featured Gorillaz, Muse and Stevie Wonder as headliners last June.

Re: The Official Beyonce Thread

this sounds interesting:

Beyoncé is currently in the writing stages of her next record, and if this is an indicator, her new list of collaborators might just surprise you: The singer recently completed work with Diplo and Sleigh Bells guitarist Derek Miller. "I actually have no idea if the collaboration will ever be released," Miller says. "Beyoncé works with whoever she wants to work with… It's just a totally different world from what I'm used to."

Re: The Official Beyonce Thread

A release date is a few months off but we hear six-time Grammy Award-winner Beyonce's new album is sure to be another worldwide hit.

Sony Music Australia boss Denis Handlin flew to New York for meetings with executives last week, and was treated to an audience with the bootylicious lady herself.

The former Destiny's Child singer rocked up in person to play international Sony executives songs from her new and fourth solo studio album, due for release late June.

Before playing the music, Beyonce said: "I just love making music and sharing it with my fans."

As a solo artist, Beyonce has sold more than 11 million albums, and millions more with Destiny's Child.

She is one of the most successful popstars of her generation.

"It was just amazing," Handlin told Insider of the new music. "She came in and played us six tracks from the album. She wants to do a big tour off the back of this record, which will include Australia. These songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking; she's gone to another level."

Last week, the 29-year-old dropped her father, Mathew, as her manager after 14 years together, saying it was a business decision.

Beyonce Working on Music Video for New Single: Report

While Beyonce's camp is remaining mum on the progress of her forthcoming fourth album, the pop star is rumored to be releasing the disc in June -- and was reportedly shooting a music video for its first single in New Jersey last week.

According to a report by Ace Showbiz, Beyonce is working with director Francis Lawrence (" Destiny's Child's "Emotion" and Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance) on the music video for an uptempo track titled "Girl." The singer is rumored to be working with 200 African dancers as well as eight choreographers for the clip.

Fan site Beyonce Daily has also posted a collection of blurry photos that were reportedly taken at the video shoot. In the snapshots, Beyonce can be seen sporting a white outfit and a faux-hawk as camera equipment is set up behind her. Meanwhile, Italian designer Roberto Cavalli posted a picture of Beyonce in a blue jumpsuit on his Twitter earlier this month, with the caption, "Beyoncé Knowles in her Roberto Cavalli outfit to shoot the first #video for her new album!"

One week after Beyonce announced that her father, Mathew Knowles, would no longer be acting as her manager, a source at Sony Music Australia revealed that the singer's follow-up to 2008's "I Am.. Sasha Fierce" has been targeted for a June release. According to Sony Music Australia head Denis Handlin, who has heard six songs from the new album, Beyonce has "gone to another level" with her new material.

Re: The Official Beyonce Thread

Beyoncé's reign has resumed -- or has it? Earlier today, a snippet of what's rumored to be the first single off Beyoncé's upcoming fourth album leaked.

The official title has yet to be announced but it's allegedly "Girl" or "Girls (Who Run the World)," and this even shorter snippet that also leaked today finds Beyoncé singing those exact words.

The track samples Major Lazer's "Pon de Floor." Diplo, one-half of the dancehall duo, has reportedly been in the studio with Beyoncé working on the new set.

We took a shot at decoding the lyrics to Bey's girl-power anthem:

"…Love it how we're smart enough to make these millions, strong enough to bear the children, then get back to business/Please, you better not play me. Oh come here, baby/Hope you still like me, if you pay me."

Earlier this week, the 29-year-old was spotted in the Mojave Dessert in California, allegedly on the set of the Francis Lawrence-directed video for "Girl" (or "Girls (Who Run the World)." In the leaked stills, Beyoncé is seen with a strong hold on a red flag and wearing a towering gold headpiece. According to Sister to Sister, Beyoncé flew in 200 African dancers to Los Angeles for the dance sequence and is working with eight different choreographers.

Wow thanks for the news! I am SO EXCITED to hear her new stuff!

Re: Your thoughts on Beyonce's Girls (Who Run The World)

I love me some Beyonce but that song was NOT IT!!!! The song was way too repetitive and i had no clue what she was singing. I'm sure the video will be good but the song will not. Even though this isn't the full song, I'm not expecting miracles.
