Better Than: Any power couple in the history of the world.

We were somewhere around NW 175th Street, on the edge of victory and madness, when the traffic kicked in. Suddenly, a light burst into the sky at Sun Life Stadium. There was hooting and honking all around us. We couldn't stop here; this was Bey country.

Actually, the shitty traffic and the running through the parking lot to get inside the sold-out debut of Jay Z and Beyoncé's world tour set the right mood for the show. See, Jay and Bey are also On the Run. It's the theme of their production. They're trying to escape the media, their place in pop music, the haters, the bullshit -- even sometimes each other. But after last night's Miami kickoff, it's clear the Carters are infinitely more powerful as a package.

Beyonce Tops Forbes Celebrity 100 List

Queen B reigns supreme in Forbes Celebrity 100 list, which was released Monday. Dr. Dre, Jay-Z, Rihanna and Katy Perry were also in the top 10 on the list that rates the cultural icons success and influence against one another.

Beyonce runs the show after a year that included 95 massive gigs, estimated to have raked in an average $2.4 million each. She also released her self-titled, career-defining fifth solo studio album without notice as an iTunes exclusive, with video content for each of its 14 tracks. The album's second single, "Drunk in Love," has gone platinum with more than 1 million copies sold.

The former Destiny's Child star's brand extends into endorsements with Pepsi and H&M, she owns a line of fragrances and has her own clothing company called House of Dereon that all add up to an estimated $115 million earned between June 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014.

HBO Lands Beyonce and Jay Z's 'On the Run' Concert Special

HBO is expanding its partnership with Beyonce and Jay Z.

The duo is teaming with the premium cable network to bring a concert special for their current worldwide On the Run Tour.

Filming for the "On the Run Tour: Beyonce and Jay Z" special will be done during the Sept. 12 and 13 dates at Paris' Stade de France and will feature Beyonce and Jay Z performing more than 40 songs from their catalogue.

"This is a major musical event that belongs on HBO," said Michael Lombardo, president of HBO programming. "It's going to be a night to remember."

The On the Run Tour, which features 19 dates in the U.S. and two in Paris, marks the couple's first time touring together on the same bill. It began June 26 in Miami.

Beyonce leads 2014 MTV Video Music Award nominations

Beyoncé leads all nominations for the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards with eight, the network unveiled Thursday morning. Nods were spread among numerous hits from the pop diva's provocative, self-titled visual album, which she released without warning late last year.

Her seductive duet with husband Jay Z, “Drunk In Love,” is up for several awards, including the night’s top prize, video of the year, as well as the network's collaboration field. Beyoncé also received multiple nominations for brazen sex jam “Partition” and empowerment anthem “Pretty Hurts.”
