Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

Man I have flip floped myself over these people!

I love Angie! Good for her for doing what she wanted with Brian and semi-ignoring Libra. She should do what she wants in the game and ignore any of Libra's rules.

Memphis is a total hunk and I do think he's in one of the best positions in the house at the moment. He's not so much a floater but more of a taste tester around all parts of the house. He seems pretty good at what he's doing and I predict he'll go at least to the jury.

Steven I'm so mixed about. When I see him smurk I want to slap him. I feel that he doesn't care about anything, at all. It's all about sex for him a lot of the time. There's no passion or charisma in him for him to be a likeable person. He's got energy, I'll give you that, but what type of energy is he carring around, you know?

Libra and April are easy, they're bitches. Even worse, it seems that they are always willing to go the extra mile to put in their 2 cents and make someone a little more misrable. I'm sick of them and hate them the most right now, and I'm loving it.

Everyone else I'm pretty melow about. Dan's a lier, a very smart lier. We'll see more lies later.

As for favourites, none at the moment. I didn't get one last season until the very end anyway, and that was Sheila and Natalie.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

OH Hell no! So I finally went to jokers and read a portion of transcripts of the feeds. This is some fucked up shit.

The updates here are being completely misconstrued. Maybe I'm the only one but I thought it was a pretty even assessment of what is happening in the house. But it's NOT. I think the established rule with Jokers is that update posters are supposed to exclude their personal feeling and just put the facts.

The "updates" here are basically every mean/nasty thing Libra/Michelle/Jessie say or do cherry-picked and smashed together. If all the unpleasant things you said were compiled and nothing else you all would seem awful too.

There are a lot of pleasant, neutral and interesting conversations that are left out in place of nasty things from the "bad" group only. If you read it for yourself you will find that none of the housemates are really horrible people, and none of them are "the good people." It's really sad because the damage has been done. I hope people find out what is going on for themselves.

Seriously, do you ever NOT complain about something? I listened well, read, through your complaining about Steven being racist, all your points and kept quiet, but man, you come off so ungrateful....it's not like you are paying for this info...and you must be miserable if you think you are ever going to get an accurate description about what is going on in the house. Who knows what really happens or is concocted in the Diary Room??

Can you just not complain and whine and have to state over and over your points? It's actually doesn't make you look good.

But I've realized for now on, what you say has no relevance, so I'll just from here forward skip over your points....

Soapy!! I appreciate you each season for making my BB experiences better each time with your updates..your opinions and all!! Your sarcastic remarks always make me chuckle...keep it up!!

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

I'm sorry, let me be clear: the last paragraph was not aimed at you at all. It has to do with a general frustration I've had with this board from time to time (not everyone of course) and horrible, bigoted things said/posted/defended way before you were even here. Lost Lover remembers these episodes I'm sure (he was a loyal soldier on the good side) and maybe a few others do too. (Where the heck is James?? I miss him! Was he banned?) The fact is I should have learned from those circular arguments, which took a lot out of me emotionally, and during which I was attacked on a hideous level, and told that my boyfriend would eventually cheat on me and all kinds of other disgusting things. None of which I might add turned out to be true. It's two years later and -- if any of those hateful people are reading this -- my boyfriend and I are still together and you were all pretty much wrong about the bigoted statements you made against bisexuals. (I'd like to hear how successful YOUR lives have been in the intervening years!)

None of this has anything to do with you FalconFan, and I apologize if I hurt your feelings. It's just that I should have learned not to engage ever again in complex and sensitive topics, in a place that's devoted to oggling crotches (that's why I stay away from the Politics thread. Why bother?). As our President once said, "Fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me...fool...can't get fooled again!"

I'm out.

Well that makes me feel better... but you're already gonna get a fun little message when you sign on to AIM (nothing rude or bitchy I assure you) :P it was sent pretty much right after I got done reading this thread but if you weren't addressing me specifically I guess it's no longer relevant. Besides I had some catharsis in the form of screenwriting and watching Simpsons season 6 episode 19
Far more importantly I'll miss you if you leave the thread :(

And don't pretend like you're too busy because I remember you were looking forward to this season. I think it's silly to swear off talking about it completely because of this scuffle especially considering that Steven's probably gone Wed anyway.

Now I will try to articulate this one final way because I think I finally know how. I certainly wasn't meaning to imply that anyone should feel bad for racist or sympathize and see them as a victim. My issue is just that there's so many different levels of racist. And I mean to say I'm very hesitant to create some sort of threshold as to just when the term racist should and shouldn't be applied to a person. How many times in a lifetime must one use a term or phrase, how many jokes does it take, how frequently must they use them, if they think racist things but don't say them does that count.... and etc. I mean clearly if a person exhibits a clear pattern of racist actions and holds racist notions that word is applicable but trying to ferret out exactly when and where that word applies I think is quite a dangerous game. I hope now you comprehend what I've been trying to articulate, I know I haven't really been doing the best job at it earlier.

And to Aij I'm truly sorry if I made you feel like you shouldn't feel offended or that you need to like or dislike anyone. I shouldn't have said you were overreacting. I meant only to say that I think it would be wise to realize that people exist beyond one statement or set of statements. I do hope you'll forgive me if you felt offended or pressured.

Boy do I!

Remember that bisexual/promiscuity thread a couple of years back? The genius we were arguing against actually had people backing his ideas.

I felt my IQ lower about 30 points that debate while arguing over such obvious facts like sexuality being determined at birth, not by the person.

As a gay/bisexual males we should know this right?

I guess some gay men here are convinced they chose to be gay.

But yes, this little disagreement over racially insensitive comments wasn't the first and definitely won't be the last. And Falcon seems to be morally intact, unlike this one person we argued with that still posts here (will remain nameless).

Nik, I said it at the time in that closed thread that they were projecting their insecurities about bisexual men. I guessed that they were stood up by a bisexual man and made all these rash conclusions about bisexual men from these isolated incidences (if they really happened).

It's their ignorance. It was just sad that they had a good 10-15 years on us and came to these kind of faulty conclusions.

It occurs every year with BB. Much more than other reality shows most likely because in BB you're watching 24/7 of course. BUt it would seem it's almost impossible to film 14 people for two or three months without some of them sayign something racist or bigotted.

Thank you. You didnt have to apologize. I didnt take it personally against you. I think it's hard to come to an understanding online. Even though we disagreed and will prolly continue to disagree I always appreciated that you never got crazy and disrespectful and belligerent like some people. You always took the time and effort to try to explain your point of view. I realize everyone doesnt think like me. i think in person I would have been able to express it better but luckily Nik2 did an amazing job. I hope you two maintain your friendship. I kinda feel guilty for causing this drama.

Everyone complains about something duh. At jokersupdates.com you can get a unbiased, pretty accurate update. Many people don't know that. I wanted people to know that.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

Alright, I went out for a few hours and came back to find that nothing has really happened, LoL.

Angie informed Steven that she won't be able to use POV on Steven if she wins, because that'll put a big target on her back in the future. She wants him to win POV and save himself.

Meanwhile, Keesha told Steven that she might be willing to use the POV on him if she wins it, because they can't nominate her as his replacement. (Y'know, I like her more and more with each passing day...)

Michelle blabbed on and on about boxing for an hour and a half.

That's about all. :)

Michelle also hurt herself... I didn't see it but given a few hours I'm sure it happened.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

I never understood why contestants read the Bible and talk about God helping them on BB -- IT'S A GAME! If there is a God, I guarantee you he/she doesn't care about your position in some dinky reality show! LOL. I mean would you pray if you were playing Monopoly and landed on someone's hotel?

Yeah but I mean I haven't seen anyone this season who expects divine intervention. It was more like Steven was sad so Dan, who's always read the bible, showed him something that he reads when he's sad and Steven just seemed to get intrigued by the bible. I don't know how familiar he was with it before especially teh crazy ass Catholic version. Earlier he was reading the part where it condemns homosexuality to people... as if it were some sort of breaking news he wanted to share.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

The Warmth, you were suprised that I like Steven because of his joke but you loved James last season, even after he said the N word twice. Yes he was joking when he said it but so was Steven. I'm not calling you out on it but I just didn't say it before because I thought the topic would finally die. I know it's not you keeping the hijacking alive.

Haha I wasn't surprised, I was poking fun at the situation. Which was blatantly obvious, unless, online sarcasm is hard to read. It might be for some folks, dunno.

I actually forgot that he said the n word. He said it during his HoH now that I recall. Between that and Ryan, as well as Adam's "retard" comment, BB9 was truely the worst people of this society put together. That's probably why I loved it so much, it was so exaggerated and trashy. In retrospect I think I abhorred Natalie more than I liked James, and I preferred Chelsia as it were.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

Finally, I will try to keep up as much as I can, and those of you who have been here with me before know I love following and bitching about Big Brother (and quoting its history, yes lol) but I really am much busier now than I ever was before. I'm doing some work in India and heading off to Sri Lanka in August. My internet connection here in Mumbai is not always great, so I'm not able to follow the feeds as much as I usually do (or even have as much time to). FalconFan, you are new to this (I think?) but now you see what makes BB different from Survivor in terms of fun. Survivor is a purer game, but BB's entertainment is largely about following the live feeds. There's nothing more thrilling than watching the strategies and dynamics shift and develop overnight, and when a big shift happens, you can't wait for the live episode to see the payoff.

Whoa, why you going to India? What do you do there. I always wanted to go there. Lucky man.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

I think that Michelle looks so much like Wamber. Surge - I am surprised you haven't posted the nude pics of Amber that you love so much.

I think that I am becoming a little addicted to forums of Big Brother, especially this one. I had a dream last night that I came online in morning and I had 150 pages of updates to catch up on...and I freaked out.

Why did you say that? seriously? That's like walking up to BUsh and pointing out he hasn't bombed Iran yet.

Nothing to feel guilty about. We love drama, especially centered around reality shows :P It's how we bonded in the first place.

Yea I think it's funny and pathetic when they do that. That's one of the points I was trying to make. We usually make fun of how they do that when they think they're screwed and start quoting scripture that somehow "mirrors" their standing in the house.

We usually would agree with how Libra said why are they bringing Bibles out all of a sudden. And also making a big show about reading it in a big group. That's why agreed with her. But of course since Libra said it, it's wrong and she a bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch.

I don't know who the "we" are but I never laugh at people for reading the bible. I laugh at people for thinking it's god's will they succeed in a freaking reality show but no one has expressed that opinion.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

LMAO... just LOL.

Watch this video about Jessie talking about Steven. Does anyone think there's some homophobia in there somewhere? I'm not sure. I'm not watching the live feeds. I don't know if Jessie knows about Steven's lifestyle.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

Erm, nothing really homophobic. He was just commenting on the idea that scratching your balls on national television is rather tactless, which it is. But I doubt Steven was really doing it as bad as Jessie's saying, he probably just readjusted himself.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

^OMG. What about that in any way was homophobic? Dear lord.

I think the way Libra eats slop is homophobic.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

I'm not watching the live feeds. I asked if he was homophobic on the live weeds.

I didn't once say I thought it was homophobic I just don't know enough about Jesse to say either way.
