Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

I can't even stand Michelle sitting there going on and on about Brian when she had no problem with him whatsoever until Libra and such pulled her into hating him.

Like I mean removing a threat from the game is one thing but they litterally hate him for no reason.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

I dont get why everyone likes Keesha. She was the biggest shit stirring bitch in the house. She's even worse because she hates a new person ever 2 days. AT first she was with Libra. Then her and Steven were trashing Libra for being bossy over food. Then she was back to Libra telling her than Steven wants her out. She looks like Danielle and acts like Danielle; a crybaby, dramatic ,fake-victim bitch.

People are just giving her a pass because she might try to align with your beloved Steven/Dan/Angie, the perfect angels of the house.

It's funny watching Steven and Angie pout and suffer in their jocks. Angie seems like a nice girl but she didnt play the game strong enough and there's not room for crybabies. And she sure as hell aint Janelle. She thought Jerry looked best in the honey for the HOH question, is she smoking crack?

Just because they're not laughing and screaming doesn't mean they're "pouting" I don't expect people to be excited about knowing they stand a 1 in 3 chance of loosing half a million dollars. To me they're not all huddled up rehashing the competition and how they should've won and how unfair it is and yada yada yada

I don't know. I've watched the feeds and it never seems like Keesha is starting any arguments.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

But honey...why are you so against the term "racist" lumping people into one group but you're not as concerned about the RACIST LANGUAGE of these people lumping people into one group. Do you see what I mean?

I understand your point, but I think you're too easy on this issue and I'm puzzled why. I've agreed with you in this thread -- and I still do -- that racist language makes someone ignorant but not necessarily a horrible or evil person. But I think it's perfectly OK not to like someone based on racist language or racist actions. And I think it's a much more valid charge against someone than "bitchiness." Why do you let racists off the hook? I get that it's based on ignorance, I get that it's the way they grew up. Fine. But that should never be the end of the discussion. Not for one moment. We are in 2008 and yes, people should know better. I'm sorry, an "ignorant background" is an explanation but should never be an excuse. Never ever. I think it's perfectly reasonable in 2008 to expect more of people.

Don't you also think it's a weird coincidence that aijalon and I objected to the "big black buck" term and then all of a sudden Steven says something that's obviously racist? Fact is -- and listen closely now -- it WASN'T a coincidence. I think the fact that we totally pegged someone who ended up making a highly offensive racist joke should make you question whether you were completely wrong (and you were) on the first issue. You obviously know a lot about race issues in America, and you're obviously highly intelligent, but I think you sometimes make the common mistake of assuming that it's not racism if it's not blatantly obvious (i.e. the Mexican/Black joke).

And yes of course prejudice is bad no matter what. My god, can we elevate this discussion beyond these platitudes? (Prejudice = bad, Democrcu = good. Americas lobe these easy stamps of approval and disapproval) It's bad, yes, we all agree. Thank goodness we've settled that one. But the fact is, when someone makes a prejudgment based on physical traits -- especially when the physical traits belong to the dominant culture i.e. white ("I don't like blonds/blonds are dumb") -- it's not automatically the same as racism because the latter affects an entire community in a way that's socially, economically and historically based . Making blond jokes does not affect ALL blonds, does not stem from a history of oppressing blonds, does not lead to blonds bearing the burden of representation and not given the benefit of being seen as individuals, does not encompass part of a system of institutionalized and historical prejudice affecting blonds in terms of jobs, access to education, health-care etc. It is NOT the same thing as race prejudice. It is only "all the same" in the most vulgar and fundamental way (that prejudging someone is wrong) but the ramifications for racism are far, far worse. And I'm amazed that this even has to be spelled out quite frankly. But here we are.

Some things I just chalk up to you being young (lol). I mean let's face it. You were wrong on the big black buck thing, you were wrong about Steven, you were wrong when you assumed race and racism had only to do with physical traits...your response to this post will probably be wrong. Even what you are thinking while reading this? Wrong. :D (I love you!)

But you are at least engaging the discussion, which is great and good for you. And you never tried to silence the topic (unlike others, belying their own discomfort and perhaps their own prejudices) and you were man enough to say you were wrong about Steven and that the second comment (the joke) WAS racist. We may disagree but at least in the debate, you are a worthy adversary.

To those who keep pooh poohing it fail to realize that television, movies and music are fraught with troubling political/social and sexual implications and subtexts. If you don't want to discuss it, fine. You don't have to. It's very easy not to. But please don't try to silence those of us who would like to have the discussion. It is not off topic, it not inappropriate. It is only unsettling because in America we don't like to talk about these things. But it was brought up in the context of Big Brother, with an ignorant man making a racially loaded remark and then later an outright racist joke. So you can understand why some of us would like to talk about it.

For some of us, gawking at how many times we can spot a bulge on Jessie, isn't the most rewarding conversation.

I know this wasnt directed to me but you are my hero. Very insightful. I couldnt have said it better myself. Even though I have mentioned Jesse looking hot in the honey, I personally think it is annoying when it is obvious some people influence their opinions by whether a housemate is hot.

But anyways w/o you I would think maybe I'm wrong for not being able to ignore Steven's behavior as easily as everyone else.

Oh god I absolutely LOOOOOVE you! You care SO much about what the fanbase and other people think that even when The Possee is in power you're still wailing!

People like you make me smile. It's the sadist in me! :gogirl:..|

Their dumb asses are pouting and miserable and I love it. Look at his little face. :cry:It serves him right talkin all that shit. I still do feel a sorry for little Angie. Poor girl.:-({|=. I'm lovin BB right now

Keesha started the argument with April. If they were in an alliance she didnt need to start yelling and threatening. She's a fuckin dolt. [-X.

I went a little smiley happy. But they're great. ahahha

...
Who said they were perfect angels?
Though... I haven't seen anything bad from Angie. Which is odd because this show brings out the worst in people.

Which is also why you shouldn't hate most of them for thier actions.
I really don't like how Michelle is acting, but I'm sure I wouldn't find it hard to hang out with her outside the house.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

Keesha may be Dani Donato v2.0, but I happened to like Dani, and I like Keesha. Good for Keesha to start the argument, she truely thought April was talking shit about her, and instead of being a little bitch about it and just be like whatever, she confronted it head-on. That's the people I like in this world. If you sit back and let things be as they are, you won't go anywhere. You've gotta confront them and be able to move on, and Keesha is showing all signs of just that to me.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

April was talking to someone (don't remember who) about how Angie was so jealous of how beatiful April was and that's when April chimed in that she can't help it if God made her this way or some crap.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

HAHAHA I love when the Bible peeps start in their random passages when they know their up shit's creek. Poor Steve and Dan. Steve's born-again it seems.

Ollie and Libra really needa drop April at some point. She's a mess. I'm pullin for those 2 to go all the way.

I dont know why people make fun of them being the paranoid posse. You should be paranoid in this game. it's fuckin Big Brother dude. Everyone's lying, scheming, and backstabbing. You really cant afford to get comfortable. At least they're not as crazy as Alison was in All-Stars stuffing her dumb ass into a pot.

Honey I'm gonna stop discussing this because I can not describe or explain it any further any further than I have. I can't make it any clearer than I have. All I can say is if you haven't read Huck Finn you should and if you did you should reflect on it. The boy is in my opinion one of the least racist literary characters ever and yet his statements are laced with racist diction because he quite simply didn't question what he was taught. It never occurred to him that society could be wrong and he could be the one is right so he contented himself with being bad and was willing to sacrifice his soul for the sake of a black man attaining his freedom never once thinking that that black man may actually be a man and not an object.

And I didn't want to get into this but I feel the need to address. STOP TELLING ME ABOUT MY LACK OF EXPERIENCE. Stop talking about it like I'm some naive fawn whose spent twenty one years prancing through a field because you're talking straight out of your ass. Now I know you've been around for a whole what three more years than me and you've flown around the world hell of a lot more than me but don't you for a minute think that means you're more "experienced" than me.

You're experiences are neither greater nor lesser. They are different. And you may have studied race relations and talked about racists and spent time dissecting them and how their minds work but I'm willing to wager when your were twelve or thirteen you never had to stop and look at the people who raised you, who you love and respect, who you know are kind, compassionate, and fair and have to ask yourself if they're racist and if you're racist because you were raised by them. And how racist are they if they're racist... and what that means about them and how you're allowed to see them.

I don't know why you of all people can't get where I'm coming from hun, especially knowing me, knowing my background. I've stated many a time on this forum that I have members of my family who I know are too varying degrees racist. My grandfather who I love and respect, who I KNOW treats everyone fairly, uses blatantly racist vocabulary and tells racist jokes. Now if you or anyone else really think that you can isolate one or even a set of sentence he or anyone else saysand use that one sentence, one word, or one phrase out of a lifetime of actions, thoughts, and statements and to try and evaluate the quality and character of an entire human life and lower it down just so you can look at it down there and say how much worse that person must be well then screw you (that's a non specific you)

And it's your turn in scrabble.

i hate his gameplay, but DAMN he has a hot body.

A certain degree of paranoia is healthy but they already drove Keesha away from their alliance and it's bound to only get worse.

I was thinking the same thing... as much as I hate he's aligning with Libra or when he bitches about people like a chick.

I am always erect when I think about him. I have no clue why either, I've NEVER been into that much muscle. Why is it so sexual?

And WHY is Memphis growing a fu man chu? That is irritating the SHIT out of me.

To be honest I hope Jessie's attraction to Angie will let her get past this week, but outside of that the bitch brothel still hates her.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

:rotflmao: You have to admit, that was funny as hell. I still hated her though.
It was hysterical. I cried during that episode. It's even funnier because Janelle still sent her ass right that door.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

My favorite part about the all Steven bashing stems entirely from the fact they feel threatened. Had Dan been hte one who came in second in the HOH they'd all be Dan bashing right now.

Haha, I hate buff guys. Guys like Brian or Dan or more my type. I love skinny men, but something about Jesse is turning me on.

No I think they just don't like them. he's had several confrontations with the girls. Dan has not had problems with anyone really. I'm not gonna even get back into the racist thing but Steven is not a nice guy. especially to them. He was talking shit about Libra way before she said anything bad about him. And on the live show they looked so gutten when Jessie won. It was priceless.

I did like Michelle's sad Brokeback Mountain joke. It was also funny last night when she said if Renny won HOH she would be so confused she would nominate herself.

The only thing that sucks about the house being so divided is they cant seem to have too much fun together. There's so much silly animosity caused by EVERYONE. Of course some much more than others but no one is blameless.

Re: The Official "Big Brother 10" Discussion Threa

^That would be awesome for the "cool people" lovers, but highly unlikely.

I cant wait to see Steve walkin his ass out that door in his cowboy boots, chewin on that nasty ass tobacco.
