J-Man thank you again for the compliment, but I think I know what aijalon meant. Looks aren't bad, sure (and I'm not saying I have them, this is a universal maxim) but it's a facile quality because looks inevitably atrophy with time, and it is something we praise people for even though it is completely unearned. I mean, people are born with physical traits, they can't control what they're given. Beauty is not a moral value, you know? But intelligence? Ah...now that can last forever, can keep accumulating, can reveal truth, can say something about a person, can leave an indelible impression, and can be something that is earned with work and experience.

Honey I'd like to introduce you to a little somethin' we call senility. It all goes when you get old... looks and mind. Trust me. The degree and the speed varies but it all goes. I've been around enough elderly people to know. If your grounds for something being praiseworthy is that it's a static trait than why not compliment people on their ability to grow hair or take up space

And I also quibble with your belief that intelligence is earned. I'm sure you don't think that we all start off on an level playing field do you? That Einstein earned his intelligence and the rest of us are just slackers??? Come now. We're given talents and abilities some more useful than others and while they can be refined and encouraged to grow to insinuate that intelligence is earned is a falsity because some people got it and some just don't.

I said intelligence can be earned. You should know me by now habibi to know that I am always very careful about word selection. It's the sign of a good law student Yes there are some people with natural born gifts in terms of brains, but knowledge and intelligence can be accumulated over time with work (and a lot of reading) and experience and introspection. And senility may occur yes (may) but even so, it can sometimes take much longer than physical wear and tear -- in America we think people have lost their looks when they're 40! Also, the end is not all that matters and I was wrong if I implied that. What I mean is that the work people do with their intelligence lasts over time and is often more rewarding than what one can yield with looks.

But you are absolutely correct. There is nothing "wrong" or "shallow" about telling someone they are physically attractive. It's a compliment and aijalon, you might want to lighten up a bit on some of these things Not everything exists in these easy binaries of good and evil. Just as a racist comment does not necessarily mean "an evil person", so too a physical compliment does not equal "shallow, superficial, awkward." The next time someone compliments your looks -- and I'm sure they do -- you should just enjoy it and say, "Thank you." My god man, not everything is the start of a crusade!

And J-Man I really do appreciate the compliment. That was very sweet. Thank you. But I think it's clear you are the hottie of JUB.

But I still think other should understand Libra may not necessarily be evil either. I think she and everyone else are just people reacting to a very unusual situation. Let's not forget the woman left young twins and must be doing anything to get her mind off of that. That's something none of us can relate to. But what other people don't understand it is hard to see a black woman called a bitch, whore,cunt, slut,bitch every other comment. She's not exactly infecting people with cancer here.

But I still think other should understand Libra may not necessarily be evil either. I think she and everyone else are just people reacting to a very unusual situation. Let's not forget the woman left young twins and must be doing anything to get her mind off of that. That's something none of us can relate to. But what other people don't understand it is hard to see a black woman called a bitch, whore,cunt, slut,bitch every other comment. She's not exactly infecting people with cancer here.

You can't let your feelings get hurt on other peoples behalf. And really, what does it matter if she is black? She is still a bitch black or white IMO.

I'm so happy Keesha won!
That was so close! Dan and Angie aren't 100% safe because people might threaten her like they did with Jerry but I don't think she'll give into the pressure. She wasn't afraid to turn against the group and fight for Steven to stay.

So far everything in this game was predictable. We knew Brian/Steven would go 100% long before the day of eviction. Keesha will shake up the house. I think if she doesn't nominate Libra, she'll backdoor her. If Libra wins POV, April will go. Worse case scenario is if she puts April/Ollie up hoping to backdoor Libra and Libra wins POV and takes April off.

No matter who Keesha puts up, even if it's Dan/Angie, I'm sure Libra will be backdoored if the POV is used. This week is going to be CRAZY!

Keesha has no bond with Angie. It's not in anyway beneficial for her to have Angie stay. Angie isn't at all safe. Angie would be the perfect excuse to strike a blow to the M/M/J/A alliance and still appear neutral.

Keesha/Angie get along great and have talked many times. She doesn't mind Angie but can't stand Libra/April. Why should Keesha strike MMJA at all? She gets along with them but not Libra/April.

Keesha is in either a very good or a very bad position. Before HOH she was in a great position and now she's in a horrible position. She's on the outside of her alliance but there's no reason for M/M/J/A to take her on. There's no reason. They have nothing to gain. So even if she literally hates her own alliance she's gonna be screwed to break away from them because she'll have no home to run to.

She can start a new alliance with Dan/Renny/Jerry/Angie. That's already half the house after Libra or April leaves this week. It'll be 5 vs 5. That'd be great for me because Memphis would be their last target since they all get along with him.

Yes because Renny, Jerry, and Dan have shown to be so good at winning competitions thus far.... This isn't survivor. It's not all a numbers game. Strategically it would be best for Keesha to stay put where she is. Emotionally she's going ot want to break away. I hope she follows her emotions because I quite frankly care more about what's good for Angie than what's good for Keesha.

Keesha sounds very jealous of Angie's relationship with Steven. That's no reason to target her though, IMO.

By targeting Angie, it's only putting a target on Keesha's back with Memphis/Michelle/Jessie. She might be getting rid of one "enemy," but she's gaining three in the process. She needs to think about that.

No this is the best move for Keesha. She's targeting someone who won't be avenged and at the same time leaving the two incompetent people who WILL vote for her to win around long enough to make it to jury

I agree that it's sometimes uncomfortably easier to villainize black women and to call them every derogatory name under the sun, even though they're not that much different from other unlikable white players in the house (April) or other unlikable white players from other seasons (take your pick). It's part of a racist socializing process whether we call ourselves racist or not, and I do remember the same vitriol being easily launched at Danielle in Season 7, even though she wasn't the only person who was against Janelle and even though she was one of the more level headed ones (not resorting to nasty name calling like Marcellas, Boogie or James for example). Totally agree with you there.

But, since your earlier point was directed at me, um...I never said these things. I do think Libra is bitchy but I also gave her credit for being one of the most perceptive players in the house. And I think I've earned a little bit of credit on this issue given my positions in the race debate prior to this.

And if you ever...EVER call me "pops" again, I will hunt you down. LOL. I come from money, and I'm well connected. I have the resources to do it.

It's not shallow to give a compliment like "You're hot" (not you of course, I mean Nik2 is hot, because even if you were physically attractive your personality and responses in this thread would make you less so). And telling him doesn't take away from his intelligence or any other positive qualities. Did I say, "You're hot and that's so much better than being smart?" No, I didn't. I've been following this thread for a while and you've become a bit annoying. Even when you were making some valid points (like when you, Nik2 and that other dude were debating race issues) your other posts were so judgemental and bitchy that you lost the support of people like myself who would have otherwise agreed with you.

And stop assuming that you know how Nik2 or any other person would feel about something please.

And yeah that chick is bitchy. And no it's not because she's black, it's because she's bitchy. You can't pull the race card for everything and then expect to have any credibility when something important does come up (like when Steven made his racist joke). Maybe that's why no one here takes you seriously, even when you're right.

And if you really cared about intelligence, you wouldn't seriously have to ask why so many Big Brother fans like Will. He was one of the smartest people to ever play this game. But oh I forgot, he wasn't black, so of course you couldn't like him.

I'm not 100% black either kid. I like a lot of players who are not either. I think Will is smart. I just don't think he is likeable or charming imo. I never understood his popularity. just like some people don't understand Janelle's or Kaysar's popularity. I liked Kaysar, Janelle, Diane, Drew, Jason, Nakomis. His race had nothing to do with it. it's his personality.

I was responding to you saying "more importantly [Nik2] he's hot." It wasnt supposed to cause any kind of fight. I should have chose my words better. I was saying it in a light hearted way. I can see how it came across wrong as just typed words. But you are being really aggressive, there's no need for it. You don't have to make personal comments about me being annoying.You don't know me.

And i didn't play any "race card" EVER. I said maybe I have a different perspective, and I do. I didnt say people hate Libra because she's black. I said it's hard for me as a person of color to see a black woman called out of her name so frequently for what I feel like isnt really heinous behavior. But I do think people respond extra aggressively to negative behavior by ethnic minorities. Whether people realize it or not it's true. I'm not sure if that is the case here.

Also SoapSkank, since I'm out of the U.S. right now and can't watch the feeds as often as I usually enjoy following this show, let me just say again thank you for all the good work you are doing in this thread to keep us so updated. The stuff you post about the feeds is informative and often hilarious. Really, we appreciate it.

(My habibi knows he's done a terrific job in this thread too as SoapSkank's backup)

OMG, what is up with all you people being infatuated with Nik2? Yes, he is insanely beautiful and intelligent, but still...

This forum feels like the big brother house with a lot of the drama involving Nik2. It seems like everyone wants to have a shomance with him and if this was really the BB house, his ass would've been tossed out by now. lol I am threatened by him (and because he isn't giving me any attention/action)... I would like to plan for his eviction and would put up falconfan up next to him. This alliance is too strong. lol just playin'

I do not want a showmance or boardmance with Nik. He seems lovely though. I think it seems like he's this Helen of Troy, but I like him because he takes time to address everyone individually and respectfully. And he tries to keep the peace.
