The Official "Big Brother 12" Discussion Thread!

^^ Uh oh. "Twists and turns" is not what this show needs. Every time Grodner says that I know to expect something stupid like the Donatos being related on S8 -- or America's Hobbit on S8 -- or the exes showing up on S4, or Tattoos and Hick being siblings without knowing it on S5 -- or the She-Devils being twins and the only ones who knew it on S5. And so on and so eye-rollingly forth.

S10 was one of my all time favorite seasons, with three awesome players (Dan, Memphis and Keesha) teaming up and making it to F4 and an honest to goodness satisfying winner (Dan) and you know what? That season was notable for not having any twists. No coincidence there Alison. Take note.

This was posted at RealityBBQ last night. It's probably bullshit but I figured I'd pass it along anyway...
I have some intereseting news to share. I was on the CBS lot a few days ago, and theres was definitely some action taking place where the BB house is located. I heard several members of the staff of commenting on how much of a hassle it's been dealing with this seasons twist because it's so "huge". There was mention of the "best house" they've ever seen. One of the women I overheard was talking about how excited she is to be a part of the team during this particular season. I'll keep my eyes...and hears open for you all in the coming weeks!

Fun in the California sun. (!)

Can't wait. :D

'Big Brother: After Dark' will return to Sho2

Keep your late nights wide open this summer, Big Brother fans: After Dark will be back! Showtime has confirmed that it will continue airing live, nightly feeds from the Big Brother house beginning July 8 at 12 a.m EST. This marks the fifth summer that CBS’ sister cable network has run the uncensored and uncut feeds, which have been a ratings success: After Dark has almost quadrupled the average numbers of viewers that Sho 2 typically attracts to the time period, when it usually airs movies (some of which are of the “adult” persuasion).

CBS has already announced that the 12th edition of Big Brother will begin July 8 and air three nights a week on Wednesdays (8-9 p.m. ET/PT), Thursdays (eviction show from 8-9 p.m.) and Sundays (8-9 p.m). The network used to air BB on Tuesdays but the network wanted to keep its winning line-up of dramas on that night intact for the summer.

The new cast for the reality show, which follows a group of people living in a house outfitted with dozens of cameras and microphones, will be announced at a later date. Big Brother is hosted by Julie Chen and executive produced by Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan in association with Endemol U.S.A.

Thanx for this info. I just signed on to SHO just for this event, and Nurse Jackie and The Tudors.

Big Brother 12
Allison Grodner Interviewed

Today we had the extreme pleasure of interviewing Allison Grodner, the executive producer of Big Brother. Allison took time out of her very busy schedule to help get us fans up to speed on the coming season of Big Brother 12.

Some of the highlights of the interview are:

1) The number of house guests is likely to stay in the same range as previous years, some where around 12 to 14.

2) This year it will be more difficult than ever before. Allison commented that in order to keep the game interesting for the fans and challenging for the house guests, things will not be quite the same as previous years. Expect the unexpected, things will be less predictable.

3) The theme of the show this year will be a "Beach Theme" keeping with the idea of summer camp.

4) Allison also took the time to debunk the latest rumor that next season of Big Brother will be the last. Allison is looking for the same kind of success the show experienced last season to have it renewed again after this season and looks forward to a rosy future for Big Brother.

5) Allison truly embraces the fans. She confided that yes she does surf the different web sites to verify things and stay in contact with fan opinion.

6) One of the most interesting nuggets to come out of the interview is this season a number of house guests will have different backgrounds and personalities than we have ever seen before.

Big Brother 12 premieres on Thursday, July 8 at 8PM ET.

She says this every year. I wonder if they'll actually introduce a new game element this season? Last summer they introduced the "Have or Have Not" twist but I don't think that really affected the game. It just made the houseguests miserable, LoL.
The theme of the show this year will be a "Beach Theme" keeping with the idea of summer camp.
Hmm... this reminds me of last season's pool room, which I loved.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new house. I'm always blown away by their ability to make the same rooms look completely different every season.

Good news.

Could this be the season we finally get our tranny?

So... there's a girl on Twitter named Shantrice Wilkerson (MrsTriceyBaby) who tweeted this yesterday:
I Recieved a call today to be on the show Big Brother 12!! God is truly amazing.. Now we play the waiting game to see if Im choosen..
She probably won't be picked since she tweeted about it, but her Twitter gives some insight into one of the "types" they're trying to cast this year.

Here's a few more of her tweets...

U can tell I'm a Cali chick by the way that I walk the way that I talk BadBitch rockin ma hawk!!

So I wrote a rap today!! SICK can't wait to get in the studio tomorrow n lay this track dwn...

I'm such a forgiving person ugh I dnt like this abt me because ppl tht KNOW ME use it to their FULL advantage when they kno they messed up

I swear God is GOOD!!!

I think she would annoy me with all the yapping about God and basketball, but I'd certainly enjoy making fun of her. Something about foul-mouthed bitches who preach about God in between their boozing and sexing really amuses me.

Then again, my first impressions always seem to be wrong so I'd probably end up loving her, LoL. I can look at someone pre-show and think, "Jesus! Why did they cast this pathetic excuse for a human being? I hate them!" And by week 2, I find myself loving all the people I hated pre-show and hating all the people I loved pre-show, LoL. It's strange. That seems to happen every year. Very rarely are my first impressions accurate -- especially when it comes to people with strong personalities.

I thought I would hate Janelle -- loved her.

I thought I would love Daniele Donato -- hated her.

I thought I would love Dick Donato -- hated him.

I thought I would love Amber -- hated her.

I thought I would love Dustin -- hated him.

I thought I would hate Jessica -- loved her.

I thought I would love Chelsia -- hated her.

I thought I would love Joshuah -- hated him.

I thought I would hate Dan Gheesling -- loved him.

I thought I would hate Memphis -- loved him.

I thought I would love Jerry -- hated him.

I thought I would hate Laura -- loved her.

I thought I would love Chima -- hated her.

I thought I would love Lydia -- hated her.

I thought I would hate Casey -- loved him.

I thought I would love Natalie -- HATED her.

I thought I would love Ronnie -- HATED him.

The list goes on.

^^ You thought you would love Natalie? Really? From the get go, I knew that bitch would be annoying. I'm with you on the rest though; I was especially shocked that Dick (asshole) and Janelle (awesome) turned out to be completely different from what I expected. And yeah, Dan too.

LoL. Somebody put a muzzle on MrsTriceyBaby already.
@MrsTriceyBaby - Shantrice--have you received your info for the hotel you will be sequestered at for BB12 yet?

@mondoaldav - No but I should have the hotel info by the 11th for sure
She just protected her tweets but I'm guessing that won't make a difference at this point.

Meanwhile, Allison Grodner seems pretty excited about the new season.
Big Brother 12 is almost here! The cast is awesome! looking forward to a great summer.

Great point. I think that was a huge reason why S6 was so captivating: It completely turned the audience's first impressions on their heads. The Iraqi and the Playboy bunny as the heroes? The fireman and the nurse as the villains? Brilliant.

MrsTriceyBaby has deleted her Twitter account and updated her Facebook status to say "Hackers!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!" It must really suck to be so close to making it on the show and then blowing your own chances.

I don't get why people just can't keep their mouth shut about their invitation to the show. Is this the first time this has happened?

^^ No it's not, with Twitter now it is happening a lot more, there have been people tweeting about Survivor casting and some of them have been giving a lot of details, but they are all most likely hurting their chances of actually getting on the show by doing this.

BB12 House Details Leaked?

Someone at BBdish posted this in the comment section:

June 15, 2010 3:41 PM.

I got this from a very reliable source, and couldn’t wait to share the news!
These are some details of the new BB12 house!!!

• There is a really tall entry door. Which looks very “tiki” like, something you would see on a tropical hut.

• When you walk in the door you are immediately met with a huge fish tank that takes up the majority of the wall in front of the door – lots of very colorful and some really big fish!

• In the living room there are once again two large couches and the usual nomination chairs. This year the couches are a light blue with cream colored nomination chairs.

• The wall nearest the diary room in the living room has a large screen which plays a nonstop loop of crashing waves. There are a few palm trees and other tropical accents throughout the room. It makes you feel like you’re on the beach!

• This kitchen has a camp theme. It’s very outdoorsy! The table is a giant picnic table, and there is a lot of modern looking wood paneling with different shades of green through out the room. It actually looks really cool.

• The bathroom’s finally got a decent makeover. The floor looks like sand and the walls are blue. There are sea shells and the sinks look like they’re floating in mid air. There is once again a big chair in the corner.

• One of the bedrooms is themed like a “sand castle” and looks very cool. With another cool room themed like a camp cabin complete with bunk beds.

• The hall to the HOH room keeps with the beach theme.

• The back yard has the basic setup, with a volley ball net, and beach balls. There is also a “camp fire” pit.

Janelle Joins The Team!

In what has to be a very popular move with all Big Brother fans, Janelle Pierzina has joined the Big Brother 12 team.

Big Brother 12 fever is reaching a crisis point as fans search out any tidbit of information or spoiler they can find containing details of this year’s highly anticipated CBS’ summer reality show. Details are starting to spill out, so TVGrapevine has a few for you!

RealPlayer will be offering a discount for the Big Brother feeds again this year. When you sign up for $29.99 you will receive access for free for the first 3 days and then your subscription continues for 3 months.

Alternatively, fans can opt for the monthly plan of $14.99 and they will still receive a one-time bonus of 3 free days. Fans can take advantage of this special price beginning June 17 and ending July 7. After July 7 the price returns to its regular $39.99 for 3 months.

RealPlayer has taken some of the work out of setting up your computer to watch the feeds if you choose. Fans with subscriptions for the feeds will now be able to simply sign onto Real site, log in, and watch the feeds directly on the web browser of their choice.

Feed watchers last year liked the Flashback option that allowed them to rewind the feeds and watch specific moments and events in the Big Brother house – Flashback will be available again this season.

Fans can also expect live events almost every day as RealPlayer’s Superpass will televise call-in shows and exclusive chats featuring BB9’s Chelsia and the newly wedded Janelle Pierzina, fan favorite from BB6 and BB7.

CBS should be unveiling the Big Brother house soon – decorated with this season’s beach theme. CBS morning show and BB host Julie Chen typically gives a tour of the house as promotion for the season revs up. Soon afterm journalists and bloggers will spend “media day” in the house as they get a feel for what a day in the BB house is like.

Finally, what you’re really waiting for… look for the release on the Big Brother 12 house guest info, bios and pictures in about 2 weeks – as soon as the house guests have been placed in sequester.
