rachel_reilly.jpg

Name: Rachel Reilly

Age: 26

Current Residence: Las Vegas, Nev.

Occupation: Chemistry Graduate Student/VIP Cocktail Waitress
Three adjectives that describe you: Bubbly, effervescent and adventurous
Favorite activities: Painting, working out, doing anything outdoors, watching movies with friends, playing with my dog, getting dressed up and going on dates.

What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house: Having your entire life televised

Strategy for winning Big Brother: I would hustle like I do at work when I get men to buy me champagne.

What types of people would you NOT choose to live with you in the house: Negative people - those who don't see the beauty in life and don't understand how fortunate we are to be alive.

A recurring theme on Big Brother is "expect the unexpected." How would you handle "the unexpected:" I would welcome it - I'm always expecting the unexpected. My life in Vegas is like a show, I welcome the spice of life. Bring it on!

Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most or least: I like Laura the most because she stuck up for what she believed.

What are you afraid of: I hate spiders!!!!!!

Finish this sentence: "My life's motto is:" Try everything out the world has to offer and always keep a smile on your face. Make the world a better place.

Is there anything else you want the fans to know about yourself: I have so many facets to my personality. I'm a model, a cocktail server, a chemist, a student, a charity head... I have life experiences to share.

RAGAN

Name: Ragan Fox

Age: 34

Current Residence: West Hollywood, Calif.

Occupation: College Professor

Three adjectives that describe you: Funny, genuine, intelligent

Favorite Activities: Writing and performing poetry. My podcast is my biggest hobby. The show features my comedic take on pop culture and politics. I discuss everything on it.

What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house: There is a lot of fighting and I tend to hold a grudge.

Strategy for winning Big Brother: Don't rock the boat until I have to. Float until war is declared and the floaters align with strong players who are perceived to be bigger threats. Form a secret alliance about two weeks into the game. Don't win too many competitions but don't obviously throw them.

What types of people would you NOT choose to live with you in the house: Homophobes, 18-23 year-olds (the ages of students I teach), ultra conservatives

A recurring theme on Big Brother is "expect the unexpected." How would you handle "the unexpected:" I'd roll with the punches.

Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most or least: Most: Janelle, because what you saw is what you got. Least: Boogie. White rappers are too much of a paradox for me. And Chima, she was a poor sport and bad game player.

What are you afraid of: Heights, flying, homophobia

What is the accomplishment you are most proud of: I've had 2 poetry collections published: Heterophobia and Exile in Gayville

Finish this sentence: "My life's motto is:" The Golden Rule: Treat others how you want/expect to be treated.

Is there anything else you want to tell the audience about yourself: I love to make people laugh. In my world, there's nothing a well-placed fart joke can't cure. Humor is how I roll with the punches.

I was pretty disappointed with this year's selection until I got to the final three, Monet, Rachel, and Ragan. I'm expecting them to be my favorites, but as we all know, Big Brother contestants are renowned for destroying the viewers' preconceived notions and first impressions.

Kathy and Britney get my approval as well. And Lane, Brendon, and Matt need to get naked ASAP.

Least favorite? I'm going with the clearly insane Enzo. His favorite past houseguest is JUSTIN? I know there's that whole sharing-a-hometown thing, but seriously. Plus he lists his biggest fears as "rats and AIDS." What a crazy.

I'm also getting negative vibes from Kristen. She reminds of BB2 Shannon.

The house looks great.

I love the sunset room, the cabana room, the upstairs hallway leading to HOH and the bathroom. The living room is nice. I like the big chains hanging from the wall in the background. The HOH room is nice too, although it looks really similar to last year's.

The only room I'm not crazy about is the "palm tree" room. Ick @ that wallpaper.

My favorite room is probably the sunset room. I love the colors. The cabana room is nice too -- it looks very relaxing.

Oh, the kitchen looks nice too. I like the color of the cabinets.

Wonder why they're being so secretive about the Have Not room again?

First impressions based on pictures and bios...

Keep in mind, my first impressions are almost ALWAYS wrong, LoL.

Andrew: He seems alright. Nice guy with an asshole streak. He probably has a low tolerance for things he's not used to and a low tolerance for immaturity. I bet he's easily manipulated by pretty women.

Annie: I like her. She seems competitive, but not obsessively. Likable personality. Nice sense of humor.

Brendon: Typical egotistical Big Brother "macho" male. Womanizer.

Britney: She'll be fun to watch. I love a good sarcastic bitch. I bet she'll be the type to do anything for camera time. She reminds me a bit of BB5's Holly and BB3's Amy.

Enzo: Hate him. He's like an un-funny version of BB6's Howie. Total meathead. His biggest fear is AIDS? And he already thinks of himself as a celebrity? First boot please.

Hayden: Typical BB jock. Naive. Easily manipulated by women.

Kathy: I can't believe she goes street racing in her patrol car, LoL. Against my better judgment, I think she'll be one of my favorites. She seems very energetic/tomboy-ish and full of pizazz.

Kristen: Don't like her. She throws off major bitch vibes. She reminds me of BB2's Shannon.

Lane: No opinion. He seems rather boring to me.

Matt: Extremely likable. Very rootable. Smart. Good sense of humor. He'll probably be the underdog of the season.

Monet: I like her. She comes across as a spoiled princess but not a bitch. Despite her Daddy's Girl/heiress vibe, I bet she's actually very down to earth. I like that she has self-respect and appreciates intelligence in both men and women.

Rachel: She's annoying as hell and she's not nearly as cute as she thinks she is. She reminds me of BB10's Michelle. I bet she'll pose and primp for the cameras all season. Ugh. Second boot please.

Ragan: He'll be fun to watch. Clearly he's very opinionated, proud of his sexuality and not afraid of confrontation. I bet he'll overplay his hand early on though.

Meet The 'Big Brother 12' Houseguests

Who is the "Big Brother" saboteur?

That's the question that will no doubt consume contestants on the 12th edition of CBS' voyeuristic reality TV series that confines a group of strangers — or houseguests, as they're known on "Big Brother" — inside a makeshift two-story domicile for the summer, all while being constantly monitored by over 50 video cameras and 95 microphones.

This season, executive producer Allison Grodner and her team have planted a mole among the houseguests to do viewers' bidding and disrupt the players' lives during "Big Brother 12," which debuts July 8 at 8 p.m. EDT. Grodner said the saboteur, who will be revealed to viewers on the July 15 episode, isn't eligible to win the $500,000 grand prize.

"For the first time ever, we have someone in the house who, in a way, is playing their own game," said Grodner, who stressed that the operative is not an actor but a real person who was picked alongside everyone else. "They're playing for a cash prize, if they make it a certain amount of time in the house. If they don't last, they're out, and their cover is blown."

Such surprises are a staple of the "expect the unexpected" franchise. The traitorous twist is similar to the eighth season introduction of "America's Player," which allowed one contestant to complete viewer-voted tasks for cash, unbeknownst to his house mates. This time, however, the cast will be made aware of the trickster's existence beforehand.

Among the suspects is Andrew Gordon, a 39-year-old Orthodox Jewish podiatrist from Miami. Gordon will be taking his own cooking utensils into the house and will observe Shabbat, not using electricity from sundown Friday until Saturday night. Grodner said no special exceptions will be made for Gordon's religious beliefs when it comes to the game.

"It's already going to be tough in that house, so it's going to be even tougher dealing with these extra little things," he said. "People are probably going to look at me as an outsider and wonder what I'm doing and why I'm not eating their food. It's something I've had to explain my whole life as a practicing Jew. Whatever happens, I'll deal with it."

Before meeting their competitors or entering the house, the houseguests were individually interviewed by The Associated Press while voluntarily sequestered — no TV, newspapers or telephones — from the outside world. (This season was originally slated to feature 14 contestants, but one person dropped out before the contest and will not be replaced.)

"I live my life full of adventure," said Annie Whittington, a 27-year-old bartender from Tampa, Fla., who dyed her platinum hair brunette at the insistence of producers because there were too many blondes this season. "I never thought I'd actually make it on the show. I love the social experiment, throwing in random people where they can't escape."

Kathy Hillis, a 40-year-old deputy sheriff from Texarkana, Ark., doesn't think competing and deceiving on "Big Brother" will be tougher than fighting crime or battling ovarian cancer. Hillis, who has been cancer free for 11 years, lied to her 23-year-old son and told him she was going on an undercover assignment in another city, not on reality TV.

"I wanted it to be a surprise," said Hillis. "He knows I've applied in the past, and he thinks it's funny."

Others hoping to outlast the rest include tattooed 32-year-old Mensa member Matt Hoffman from Elgin, Ill.; 34-year-old slam poet and assistant professor Ragan Fox from West Hollywood, Calif.; 24-year-old oil rig salesman Lane Elenburg from Decatur, Texas; and 32-year-old insurance adjuster Enzo Palumbo from Bayonne, N.J.

"My strategy is to go in there and hustle them," said Rachel Reilly, a 26-year-old cocktail waitress and chemistry graduate student from Las Vegas. "I'm not going to let them know at first that I'm an intelligent girl who is into chemistry. I'm going to let them think I'm just this ditzy cocktail waitress from Las Vegas who doesn't know anything."

This season, the Florida-themed "Big Brother" dwelling, which is located on a Studio City sound stage, features several beachy touches, including an indoor room resembling a cabana and a pair of colossal fake palm trees. Grodner said the "have not" bedroom, an uncomfortable enclave where players who lose "have not" competitions are relegated, will return.

"It's sort of the dark-side of the decor this year," teased Grodner, who said the nightmarish space would be revealed during the July 11 episode. "We have a very fun South Beach kind of vibe going on throughout the house this season, and this room is the opposite of all that. I would venture to say it's worse than last year, which was pretty bad."

Video interviews with the new cast are being posted on Zap2It.com.

So far, only Britney and Enzo's interviews have been posted, but the rest are coming.

I'll probably post them here later when they're all up.

'Big Brother 12's' Enzo wants a 'right-handed man,' 'a strong female,' 'a good gay guy'

Enzo Palumbo is one of the new "Big Brother 12" contestants and when he describes himself as a character, he is not kidding. Check out this interview he did with Zap2it before heading to the "Big Brother" house.

When asked why he wanted to be on "Big Brother," Enzo says, "I feel like I'm a character and there's been tons of characters on that show. I wanna express my personality because I think America and this show is gonna love me."

His favorite contestant of all time is Evel Dick. Enzo says Dick "was very funny" and "hall of fame" antics. His least favorite contestant of all time is Dan from Season 10.

"He would just talk too much, it was a little bit too much," Enzo says of Dan. "Alright bro, you're real religious, we know that, you know the book of Corinthians or whatever, take it easy. There's more to life than that."

Enzo also has a strong idea of what he wants to align with in the house.

"I want my right-handed man, a guy I can trust. I want my strong female, I want the weapons, these are the weapons," he says, miming breasts. "And I want a good gay guy. He could play both sides of the field for me. A gay guy's like a woman in a guy's body, they have the emotions of a woman but can have the attitude of a guy."

'Big Brother 12's' Britney: Don't assume she's 'young and blonde and stupid'

"Big Brother 12" kicks off in just over a week and in preparation, Zap2it is launching our series of interviews with the new contestants. This time it's Britney Haynes, a 22-year-old hotel sales manager from Arkansas.

Britney tells Zap2it that she's always loved "Big Brother." "I've been a huge fan of the show for the longest time ... I've always really respected the game and now I get to be a part of it!"

Her favorite all-time players are Janelle, Will and Mike "Boogie" and her least favorites ... well, there are just too many to name them all. "Season 11, let's just put that out there. I didn't really like hardly anybody off of last season," says Britney. "There have been a ton of people I just didn't enjoy. I would say ... Natalie, she was probably one of my friggin' least favorites ever. Just her voice, it was awful!"

When asked what her strategy is going to be, Britney says she's going to feel it out first. "I'm going into the house with a strategy or the mentality of kind of letting things happen organically ... I don't wanna force anything, force any alliances or force any friendships."

She also thinks she might be underestimated for various reasons. "There's a very stereotypical image maybe that I portray and that's definitely not the whole story behind me. I definitely think I could be misinterpreted for someone who is young and stupid and blonde ... I think that I'll bring a lot more to the table than first meets the eye."

Oh please.

It's very difficult for me to distinguish the guys from each other at this point unless I sit down and study them because they all seem pretty bland to me.

I hope a female takes it this year. It looks like I could be cheering for Annie this time around.

I just scrolled through the contestants and first thought THANK GOD no Russell. Second thought is there really only one person of color! I'm so surprised they'd do that.

Individually I hate to make predictions because they're almost always wrong but I loved Monet's answers far more than anyone elses. So hypothetically she may be may favorite.

I don't know how I feel about Ragan until I see him in action but I know I'll feel it very strongly. Either way he seems to know the most about the game.

Brittney listing "gossiping with gays" as her hobby... I'm not a fan

Andrew plans to combine Kaysar's strategy with Russell's.... aside from that being impossible I'm sure building your strategy around two gameplans that are by nature doomed to fail from day one will work out great for him. Must be the one who's nto trying to win... that or an idiot.

Brendon seems like he could be my likable hot guy. Hayden needs to cut his hair.

^^ I agree with all these falconfan, but isn't it possible Russell is still on and he'll be introduced in the first episode as a surprise? They did that with Dick and Daniele and a few others over the years I believe.

Anyway, I hope Rusell doesn't come on, not only because I can't stand him but also because I want you to stick around for this season! ;)

Also a College Professor, a Chem Grad student, a Bio PhD candidate...I see BB is actually trying to lift the seasonal average brain activity to say, above dead chicken level?

I like this attempt. If there's no Russell I'll REALLY be pleased with the way this season has begun.

I already hate Enzo based on name alone. That, and the fact that he lists "AIDS" as a fear.

I changed my mind, this cast actually looks really good. I'm seeing a lot of drama coming from them.

The house looks really nice too. I love the kitchen, living room, and cabana room.

Also, does anyone else feel like the HoH room looks a lot bigger that it normally is?

Jeff Schroeder of BB11 tweeted this this afternoon:

i just watched press day for the new BB12 and thought that it was the new cast? I was like a couple of those HG's interviewed us last yr. ha

what does that mean? hmmm

I love thouse!! So chic, and relaxing at the same time... probably one of my favourite decors ever!

ANd the cast - I must say I am fairly impressed... a lot of them seem very smart - various degrees, a menza member, etc etc etc. This should bring the strategizing and manipulations to a whole new level!! I can't wait!!! I already want to know who the saboteur is! hahaha.

ANd yes, man123, I thought the same thing... maybe because that huge lounge chair is gone, for what looks like a small table and small chairs...? I dunno.

anyways.... 8 DAYS!!!
