The Official "Big Brother 12" Discussion Thread!

I thought he could turn down doing those things, but if he did he wouldn't get the money for that task?

He had to "attempt" them as part of his contract. And unless he wanted his life to be hell he had to get along with America. Remember the time he was forced to give Jessica the silent treatment for no reason almost destroying his strongest alliance? It was basically America bitch slapping him for not sacraficing himself to propel Dick forward. The night after that he struck a final four deal with the Donatos.

OMG looking back on BB 8, do you guys remember Amber constantly saying on the feeds that she was going to be a model after the show an go on ANTM? Lord that child was deluuuuuuded.

Also Eric was forced by America to do all the bad things to Jen b/c she was Dick's enemy. Not only did that stuff impede her progress in the game but it further alienated her from the rest of housemates so she had no shot at a social game.

I am just thankful that we went a whole season without seeing Amber's nasty nude photos. Someone usually posts the pics in the thread. See everyone next season!

^^ That's true. Jen was my favorite from BB 8 but the other houseguests just didn't like her and while Eric contributed to that, it cant all be blamed on him. Just like Rachel or Brendan this year, even if Jen had made it to the finals, it's hard to imagine her getting a single vote. Then again, ANYONE who made it to the finals with one of the Donatos was going to win 5-2 (the jury made that clear when Zach was evicted) and maybe that's why Jen tried to saddle up to Daniele, but other than a Donato, my darling Jen likely couldn't have won. (And I guess in this analogy then Brenchel would be more like the Donatos)

I loved watching Jen during this veto competition as well, especially how she kept her wine glass there throughout the comp LOL. And of course Dick acted like a total jackass afterward as if Jen cheated or whatever by throwing the comp so no one else could take over Jameka's lead (Jameka had promised to use the veto on Jen and in fact she did) when it was actually the smartest thing for her to do at that moment!

At 0:40 though, Dick says something about God and Big Brother that is pretty much the ONLY thing I've ever agreed with him on.

I so don't miss the "GRR I'M A BADASS" rock score hitting anytime Dick batted an eye. I also don't miss hearing Daniele's voice. Just that one confessional before the competition made me remember all of the times she whined, "OH MY GODDDDD THIS IS SOOOO FRUSTRATINGGGGGGGGG!!!!"

Also, in that competition, Jameka, Jameka, Jameka coulda took the $5000.... but she didn't! ;_;

^^Slipintothefog, we seem to share similar sentiments on BB and Survivor (I was rooting for Sandra last season too!), have you watched every season of BB? Who were some of your past favorites?

Don't forget Danielle's trademark, "HONESTLY?" which was always followed by anything but.

And god yes, the drumsticks cuing the "badass" rock music was enough of a warning for me to mute the volume.

I've seen every BB except 2, and the second half of 9. That includes BB1 but who cares about that season? BB9 was the only season that was so actively BAD that I actually stopped watching, but in hindsight even that unlikable cast seems better than what we just sat through this summer...

These were my favorites as each season aired:
BB3 - Marcellas, Amy, Danielle. I was still 14 at the time so every gay contestant was automatically a favorite. Amy and Danielle were hilarious. I'm conflicted about whether or not Danielle was screwed. On one hand, the fact that the people voting were allowed to watch the show was a flawed idea that they thankfully correctly after BB3. On the other hand, Danielle KNEW that the show aired Dairy Room sessions so it was largely her fault for talking so much shit about the jury in those sessions as well.

BB4 - Jun. BB4 is a total haze to me at this point but I remember being behind Jun's low-key bitchiness from day one.

BB5 - Will, Nakomis and Karen. I really liked the entire Girl alliance until the twin beasts went after Marvin and Will, and I loved when Marvin called them out for claiming God told them to target "the black guy and the gay guy." BB5 seems kind of forgotten these days. How many people outside of the diehards would even remember Nakomis invented the whole "backdooring" concept? And even though I keep saying Kevin was my favorite BB gay guy, Will was very sweet and probably the most normal gay man the show has had.

BB6 - Anybody who wasn't the Friendship, naturally. I am so frustrated with Kaysar's gameplay because the man was just sexy as hell and I wanted him to be a good player to make the total package. Nope. But I think Janelle was just about everybody's favorite that year and for good reason. All of the posers on the years after BB6 wish they could have a moment as iconic as "Bye bye, bitches!"

BB7 - Janelle and Will.

BB8 - Jen was my favorite. I just found her hilarious. I liked Eric and Jessica at the time too despite Eric actively having to play for the Donatos.

BB9 - Sheila, just because she cracked me up, KNOW THAT. Make me pick a second favorite out of that despicable cast and I'd rather dig under my fingernails with a toothpick.

BB10 - Dan, Keesha, Renny. Memphis was too boring for me. Libra would have been up there if she brought the entertainment outside of her last week or two.

BB11 - Michele, Kevin, Jordan. I identified with Michele on many levels and that's why I find it so horrifying to look at what she's become since the show ended. Kevin was the probably the best kind of player: one who laid low in the house but brought entertainment in his DR sessions. Jordan was not smart but she had a heart of gold. I remember watching BBAD during the last week and Jordan and Kevin were talking and she was like, "I hope that if I have a son who is gay he wouldn't be afraid to tell me because I would accept him" or something like that. Very sweet girl.

BB12 - Britney, naturally. I will also admit that I liked Matt because I can tell he's just a sarcastic guy and doesn't truly mean it when he brags about how he's a "diabolical super genius" and such. Also Rachel because when I watch reality shows I want people who are entertaining and I can separate the "person" from the "character" in my mind. Rachel as a character is ~amazing~ for her delusions, witch cackle and general OTT trainwreck factor. When she came back in for 24 hours I was rolling at her "OHHH I'M BAAAACK BITCHES!!! *hyena laugh*" entrance. Rachel as a person... yeah, not so much.

I only got two out of those clues in the BB8 Veto comp video. That last one was ridiculous.

Slipintothefog we are the same person. LOL. In particular what you said about BB3 Danielle, Nakomis, and yes even Rachel are all things I've thought myself. I'm in a hurry so I'll post more later. I pretty much agree with all your picks though.

Also, you really should watch season 2 online if you get the chance. It seems primitive by today's standards, and there are lots of moments that lag, but Will's gameplay was brilliant and Monica ripping into the humorless, irritating Nicole at the end was awesome.

For now, I leave you all with an awesome moment from last season. I just love Kevin making fun of these cows in the DR. It's hilarious how rag-tag this alliance was. Kevin voted Jessie out and correctly called him an idiot, Lydia couldn't stand Natalie, and BOTH Lydia and Jessie ended up voting for Jordan over Natalie. These people were together because they had to be, not because they really liked each other. And Kevin was always the best out of all of them.

I actually did start watching it last summer but I hit a rough patch in my life after I watched the episode in which Nicole and Sheryl were nominated, and I never got around to continuing. One reason is because, once I got my issues sorted, I went back to rewatching Survivor instead and finished off Thailand, Amazon, Pearl Islands, All-Stars and Vanuatu instead.... I'll get to BB2 again some day.

And I'll probably have to rewatch BB9 eventually too. Compared to Micronesia, which aired at the same time, BB9 did not hold my interest, and I was taking time-consuming classes like Physics II at the time, so I was barely even able to keep up with Micro. Factor in just about every person on BB9's cast being a disgusting human being, especially Josh, and I was just DONE.

I've actually been lurking on the Survivor/BB threads here since... probably Fiji and BB8? Maybe earlier, but somewhere around there. I was always afraid to start posting because there were some really heated debates in those old threads. :P

Well I hope you stay now and continue posting more! :)

Callum, Monica was indeed a nutbag -- a casting foreshadow of what would come with Amber, BB9 Natalie, Lydia and Rachel in terms of actually insane -- and most of the season I couldn't stand her. But Nicole was so humorless and such a self-involved kill-joy, that it was awesome to watch Monica rip her apart before she left. She may have been crazy, but everything she said about Nicole was true.

Finally there is homosexual on this board who is not obsessed with Dan and exaggerate what a genius player he was.

I couldn't stand Dan either. Of all the seasons, he was the loudest in the diary room. I had to turn my volume down three notches every time they showed his diary session.

LOL Dan definitely had a problem with hollering in the DR. So did Sharon on BB9 and both Rachel and Hayden on BB12. There seems to be one every season.

I almost forgot that Jameeka was the John Locke of Big Brother. Her crazy fatalist logic is impressively insane by any standard as she clearly created the rules herself, I doubt any religious holy books speak specifically about what one shall and shalt not do in reality television.

How many people outside of the diehards would even remember Nakomis invented the whole "backdooring" concept? .

So so true! It bugs me every time these houseguests describe EVERY replacement nominee as "backdooring" when that term was originally used by Nakomis and her alliance to describe the process of the Six Finger plan i.e. one team has 6 players and rigs it so that all 6 people playing for POV excludes the one person you want to evict, who then ends up going up as the replacement nominee and promptly voted out. This plan worked so well that BB even tinkered with the POV rules. Previously the HOH and the two nominees would each pick one person to play in the competition, but nowadays names are drawn randomly from a bag.

How about this awesome moment from BB5? It still gets me how stupid Cowboy kept insisting, "It's Holly!" And I love Jase's "I'm fucked" face.
