Houseguests are waiting for the POV ceremony to start in fifteen minutes.
In the meantime, here are my thoughts on this season of Big Brother, so far.
I've given up on this being a 'regular' version of Big Brother. It's never going to happen.
I'm just accepting it for what it is, having a good time making fun of these skanks and how stupid they are, and for that alone, I'm entertained. I'm entertained in a different way than usual. It's not necessarily better, but it's certainly interesting. People on the BB forums are very split right down the middle. Half LOVE it more than any other season, and the other half absolutely HATES is. I waver back and forth.
I've been wavering back and forth between loving this season and absolutely hating it. Part of me misses the old Big Brother formula where the focus was on the game rather than the hookups, but then another part of me loves making fun of how insane and skanky these houseguests are.
I think that once you just let go of the idea that this Big Brother will be anything like previous seasons, you'll enjoy it more. If you keep wanting the 'regular' Big Brother, it'll never appeal to you. Once you give that up, though, and just allow yourself to accept it for the craziness that it is in order to basically make fun of the nuts we have, it's enjoyable... but in a different way. It's enjoyable for different reasons.
I'm really not rooting for anyone, because to me they're all repulsive and disgusting. I don't so much care if ANYONE wins, and that does disappoint me because a big enjoyment factor is taken away when you don't have anyone to root for.
I think that once people start going home and the backstabbing is revealed, the people will get their head in the game more. Right now everything is still fresh and new to them -- a big party -- but once the realism of being voted out hits them, I think that the honeymoon/party era will be over (somewhat) and that's when people will really get their head in the game. They'll all hate each other too much to get naked and screw, LoL.
For now, I'm going to keep watching, just to make fun of these crazy fools, and enjoying each week one is sent home because I genuinely do dislike nearly all of them. I'll probably continue to go back and forth between loving and hating it 'til the end though.
I know one thing for sure -- this season is an editor's nightmare! I can't even imagine having to try and fit all the hours and hours of insane drama from the last five days into two episodes (Sunday/Tuesday), not to mention cutting all the nudity. They better get paid well!
